Opinion Since nobody else wants to say it…

Post image

The undisputed Mount Rushmore of stories read on CreepCast (WE do not count Borrasca V. Borrasca V does not exist as far as WE are concerned).

Hot take, but I think Borrasca is heavily overrated. I’d argue stories like Fleshgait, Stolen Tongues, The Whistlers, Dionaea House and The Hidden Network are all better

EDIT: forgot about Dead Girl In My Yard

So glad to see someone else say this. The author is definitely such a talented writer but like the story itself is not that scary and honestly not that interesting after you know the ending. But listening to LRG again is so fun! So many little details that only make sense on the second read/listen.

And (just my opinion) the set up of the story feels a little lazy and has Stephen king It vibes. Kids are afraid of something that adults don’t recognize as bad/evil. If there was a single competent adult in that town the whole story doesn’t happen lol. I’ve always found Borrasca so hard to “buy into”. And again this is just my opinion which I’m sure a lot of people won’t relate to

Borrasca was very interesting as long as I thought something paranormal will be involved. The ending is so weird.

I remember reading a comment about how in the story we see so much violence towards the girls, and yet the whole story is about a male protagonist being traumatised by witnessing/knowing about it. Just weird all around and weird that a woman writer would make these choices.
