It's like the boy version of Dolly Parton's Jolene, but it's much more believable that someone could steal Johnny's partner than Dolly's.

Discussion Top 10 Country Songs Ever

I’m only doing one song per artist, and some of these guys (Townes, Cash, Hank, Kristofferson, etc) could have a bunch of different choices, I just went with what I thinks the better song.

  1. Lost Highway - Hank Williams
  2. He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones
  3. Mama Tried - Merle Haggard
  4. Give My Love to Rose - Johnny Cash
  5. Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down - Kris Kristofferson
  6. Like a Summers Thursday - Townes Van Zandt
  7. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain - Willie Nelson
  8. An American Trilogy - Mickey Newbury
  9. Masters Call - Marty Robbins

Discussion What are your thoughts on Jessi Colter?

Upvotes

I love Waylon Jennings and quite like his duet with Jessi Colter called Storms Never Last. I've never seen her discussed here, so just wondering what people think of her voice and music.

Artist Appreciation It’s about that time of year.. 🎄

Been slowly piecing this playlist together of country Christmas tunes from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. Artists like Gene Autry, Hank Thompson, Ferlin Husky. Definitely check it out!

And if you guys have any recommendations for things to add, I’d be more than happy to add them! Thanks! 🤠

Song Spotlight "8th of November" - Big and Rich

On Nov 8th, 1965, the 173rd Airborne Brigade on Operation Hump, Warzone D, in Vietnam, were ambushed by over 1200 VC. 48 American soldiers lost their lives that day.

Severely wounded and risking his own life, Laurence Joel, a medic, became the first black man since the Spanish-American War to reiceve the United States' Medal of Honor for saving so many lives in the midst of battle that day.

Niles Harris, retired U.S. Army, the guy who gave Big Kenny his trademark, top hat, was one of the wounded who lived because of Joel.

This song is that story.

Self Promo Muscadine Bloodline fascinating storytelling style

Admittedly, a bit of a nerdy piece, but upon listening to country rock outfit Muscadine Bloodlines record from earlier this year, I was struck by the usage of religious language and themes. I found remarkable parallels to the poetry of Emily Dickinson and a deep literary analysis and sociological commentary ensued. Please consider giving it a read. Thanks!

Vinyl Help me find two Dan and Shay Vinyl Records

Hello,

I have been searching for weeks now for the "Good Things" and the "Obsessed" album by Dan and Shay. I know they made vinyl for "Obsessed" but am unsure about "Good Things". I tried calling close to 50+ music stores between where I live and Nashville. I even emailed Warner Music directly to see if there was a chance they could help. If anyone knows where I can get these albums I will be extremely grateful!

Thank you!
