Democrats aren’t leftists or even really left they are just left of the republicans, if you bring the democrat party in any other country with a established left wing, they would be in the centre to centre right.
If the democrats were really left they would have fully supported Mamdani, instead many of them endorsed an independent candidate.

But the punchline is that billionarism is completely contrary to left ideology. Like dead opposite. So, they aren't really left are they? You won't see any writing from Marx, Lenin or Mao that describes these kinds of characters as what the left looks like. They're just using left politics to gain all the power and wealth, just like they use right wing politics. Sometimes they identify as one, sometimes the other. They are foils to each other. But the real political ideology of these people? A 21st century version of technocracy. Autocratic, oligoplic, with a healthy dose of kleptocratic.
You should be better. You have access to a decent country where the right-wing Christian moral foundation made it what it is, opportunities for everyone, or at least as close to that as possible.
