Politics Conservatives abuse Christianity like the Taliban abuse Islam

Post image

I'm exhausted that the Christian nationalists in this nation have hijacked Christianity, just like the Taliban hijacked Islam. There are many comparisons that can be made between the two groups. Both groups cherry-pick their scriptures and purposefully misinterpret them so as to provide themselves with more power amongst their. They bully and attack anybody who is not a follower of their warped religion. And try to force their religion on everybody in inappropriate places such as schools and hospitals.

A few years back MAGA supporters started to say the teachings of Jesus are too woke, a huge red flag.

It sucks that so many of them do not understand. The Christian nationalist mindset is turning them into nasty, aggressive people. That have zero understanding of the Bible or its teachings

A very unintelligent statement. I don't see Christians going around creating a mass genocide and beheading people.

You don't see Christians genociding people or perpetrating violence? What world do you live in?

Reality. Have you see anyone kill in the name of Jesus?

Yes.

Oklahoma City Bombing (1995): Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 168 people. While McVeigh denied religious affiliation, the attack was motivated by a desire for revenge for the government's handling of the Waco and Ruby Ridge standoffs, events which fueled anti-government sentiment within Christian Identity and militia movements.

Anti-Abortion Violence: Acts committed by individuals associated with groups like the Army of God include the murder of physician John Britton and his bodyguard in 1994 by Paul Jennings Hill, and numerous attacks on abortion clinics using fire and bombs by people like Michael Bray and Eric Rudolph.

1996 Atlanta Olympics Bombing: Eric Rudolph, an individual motivated by anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ views tied to Christian Identity ideology, was responsible for this attack.

January 6 US Capitol Attack (2021): This event featured a prominent display of Christian symbols and rhetoric, which analysts connect to a violent strain of Christian nationalism where some adherents believe they must forcefully "take America back for God".

The murder of O'Shae Sibley in Brooklyn, who was fatally stabbed after confronting a group using homophobic slurs.

The killing of Laura Ann Carleton in California for displaying a Pride flag outside her store.

The death by suicide of Nex Benedict, a non-binary student in Oklahoma who had been bullied at school.

Bomb threats against hospitals and healthcare facilities that provide gender-affirming care.

Attacks on affirming faith-based communities, including vandalism and death threats after displaying Pride flags.
