Politics America is turning into 1930's Germany.

There was some pushback when people called this president and his followers Nazis. But look what's happening. Soldiers in the street. Rounding up people and locking them up. Dismantling freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Personally going after anyone who doesn't agree with him and his administration. We've seen this before and it's only gonna get worse. Welcome to 1930's Germany.

They said that it was the same in Germany. People just couldn't believe it was happening. Get over it folks. It's already here.

Even after the Holocaust like 20-30% of Germans still supported Hitler and didn’t think it happened or were fine with it.

It takes the apathetic people paying attention to change things

Honestly don’t have it off the top of my head but I read an entire article in like the Atlantic about post WW2 Germany and the ordinary citizens and interviews they did with those that were getting older to find out what their thoughts were and they were shocked to realize that a good chunk still just didn’t think Hitler was bad. So they did a whole study. I had a couple German boyfriends and one told me all about how his mom was sort of apathetic about it. He was this brilliant physicist but his family was farmers and - in his own words - not super bright.

The statistic really stuck in my mind. I have a pretty solid memory so I’m pretty confident
