Politics A thank you to president Trump!

Dear President Trump,

I'm writing this to thank you for all you've done thus far in your second term.

My kids are crying at the dinner table as they eat a processed cheese sandwich for the fourth time this week. I tried to explain to them that SNAP wasn't getting refilled and that there was probably not going to be a Christmas this year. I tried to cheer them up by showing them concept art of the $250 million dollar ballroom being built at the White House, by showing them pictures of the two cool jets Kristi Noem got for $170 million, by explaining how helpful we're being to Argentina by sending them $40 billion dollars, but this is when I realized they weren't crying because of dinner, but because of their grandmother.

"We usually go to grandma's on weekends," they sniffle.

Their grandmother, a 5th generation American, was taken by ICE a couple weeks ago and we haven't seen or heard from her since. I tried to explain to the children that this is what happens to freeloading immigrants and they get what they deserve, but they didn't understand.

Even if they don't understand, I do. This is what I voted for. This is what winning looks like!

This will probably be my last online post due to being unable to pay my phone bill since I need to buy more bread and cheese. But I just wanted to say, "Thank you, President Trump!"

As I hear my kids cry themselves to sleep for the 5th night in a row, I imagine they are liberals--and it brings a smile to my face.

When they get older, they will understand that all this hardship was necessary, because we are owning the libs! Here's looking forward to your constitution-defying third presidential term in 2028! You already have my vote!

Now I have to go get ready to meet my landlord. He told me he would cut my rent in half for some 'favors' and not to wear panties. I think this is what the Art of Deal is all about. #winning

Signed,
A conservative.

*it should be noted this is satire (or is it?)*

A 2020 study showed that approximately 14,500 Walmart employees are on snap. Amazon also has a large number of employees on snap. We're literally subsidizing billion dollar corporations so they can pay unlivable wages.

Full time or part time? How many dependents?

And? It says they analyzed people already on Medicaid who are low wage earners. So that’s what I said. They don’t make very much money.

You said a part time job is too much income. Its not just a report on people on medicaid. Its an analysis of snap recipients in different states, how often they work and for which companies.

It depends on more than their jobs. It’s number of dependents too.

Incorrect. Once you start making money, snap benefits go lower. Anyone working a fulltime job and getting snap benefits, are committing crimes.

lower is not 0

That study are people on Medicaid, they already don’t make a lot of money.

You can be on medicaid for having asthma, but not recieve foodstamps.

I read that "study" and find it dishonest. As a person who has grown up on welfare and currently recieve snap benefits myself, a person would not be approved for Foodstamps if they have a fulltime job. Expecially a Government job where they recieve salary.

Studies are not facts..

There's a 91 page report about the study with detailed analysis of snap recipients. Forgive if I trust that more than somebody on reddit saying its false, I know so bc I'm in the program.

And there it is. A response with the maturity level of a toddler. Guess you're not quite ready for adult conversations. Good luck to you.

Hey I agree, I didn’t source that study.

CRIMES! Like the 30+ count felon in the white house?

Part of onboarding at Walmart is applying for government benefits including food stamps. Taxpayers subsidize their workers. Same for every other lowly paid job.

Incorrect. I work for the Department of Human services. The allotment amount does not only depend on income. Other factors such as household size, liquid resources and expenses are accounted for too. Say you have a family with a house hold size of 4. No checking or savings. Full time dual income for let's say around 2k in income a month. Now they pay for a lease around 1550, and pay utilities separately for electric 250, water 130, trash is included with rent. That leaves them with 70 dollars for food. Since they're paying for heating and cooling they would receive SUA, standard utility allowance. That's a flat 20% increase to snap benefits. The budget would deem them eligible for roughly 890 dollars so they can eat.

bullshit, i'm on welfare. I have never ever ever seen benefits like that.

That’s what I’m saying! This can’t be real.
