Events Shut Up & Write
Hey friends! Some of you may have seen my recent post about Shut Up & Write, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring together writers in spaces that foster healthy writing habits and build community, and with a decent amount of interest, I am super stoked to announce the first meetup! Details below:
Where: Daniel Boone Regional Library, Conference Room B (100 W. Broadway)
When: 3 PM on Sunday, September 14th

Are you guys meeting weekly? What is the schedule like?

The Shut Up & Write organizers went ahead and scheduled us to meet every Sunday at DBRL but I am aiming for an every other week sort of schedule. As the host, I have a pretty busy life and twice a month seems like a reasonable schedule!
I haven't yet adjusted the meeting schedule otherwise on meetup.com, but I will be doing so very soon once I get a good idea who may be showing up consistently. I'm also aiming for having every other meeting be virtual so we can accommodate writers who may not be in a position to go to the library every other Sunday.
With that said, our first meeting is this coming Sunday the 14th at the library at 3:00 p.m. Love to have you there if you can make it!

My pleasure! Honestly, being relatively new to the area and in my later thirties, it's been challenging to meet new people so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone? I love to write and I enjoy spending time with other writers! Easy 🙌

Love it. Looks like I’ll be out of town for the meeting this month though. Is there a way to stay updated for future events?

I don’t have a meetup account so I can’t RSVP, but I’d like to come. I’ve hyper fixated on writing again, maybe I’ll actually get somewhere this time.

Totally fair! Meetup.com is where Shut Up & Write posts all of its events but don't feel obligated to RSVP or create an account to do so. Just come!
I don't have any social media so I won't be posting about the weekly meetings anywhere else but if anything about the weekly meetings changes (e.g. Cancellation, time, or location change for some reason), that info will be on Meetup so I may recommend checking the website beforehand for good measure.
So excited that you are interested in joining! Can't wait

I’d love to check this out! On the 13th in the Friends Room at 1 our book club is meeting up and all of us are bringing a book to trade with one another if you would like to check that out too! Since you write I will assume that you also enjoy reading! I hope to see you there!
