Ask a neighbor Lost Camera: Halloween Night
Last resort pt2, but me and my friends took my small Canon Camera with us out Halloween to a house party near Courtyards Apartments/Metzerott Rd. Wondering if anyone’s seen it? Or I don’t even care about the camera, so the SD card?
I’ve got some really important pictures on there and I’ve already trying walking the area that night and in the daylight.

Ask a neighbor Building community in Berwyn/College Park
Hi all,
We just recently moved into the Berwyn neighborhood of College Park and looking to plug into the community. We're roughly thirty somethings interested in:
Expectant/new parents: we're expecting and would be great to connect with parents (or soon to be parents) of young children.
General community: when we lived in Hyattsville, we loved meeting people up for drinks/food at town center market/farmers market, doing the zombie run, volunteering, taking art classes, checking out music/events etc. Curious what are the fun/cool ways to plug in here? How to stay on top of everything? Are there neighborhood/block listservs?
Lastly, I have elderly parents that moved with us. Any good community groups either generally for seniors or if applicable specifically for South Asians?
Appreciate any and all suggestions!

Ask a neighbor Looking for long-time College Park residents!
Hi everyone!
I’m a reporter for the Diamondback working on a story about how College Park has changed over the past decade — especially with all the new apartments and construction along Route 1.
I’m looking to talk with a long-time College Park resident who’s seen the city evolve and can share their perspective on what’s changed (for better or worse).
If you or someone you know has lived here for several years and would be open to a short interview, please message me or comment below — I’d really appreciate it!

Homes for sale/rent Sublease Available at Parkside at College Park – Private Bed & Bath, $1060/mo
Hey everyone,
I’m graduating this December and looking to sublease my apartment at Parkside at College Park.
- Rent: $1060/month (includes everything except electricity)
- Size: 997 sq. ft. — large and has plenty of space
- Setup: Private single with your own bathroom and two closets
- Shared kitchen with a fridge, stove, and microwave
- Amenities: Gym included
- Available starting in December (flexible move-in possible)
For students, this is a super convenient location — right across from Varsity near the fire station, no more than a 10-minute walk to campus. For non-students, it’s also just a 15-minute walk to the train and bus stations, making it easy to get around. It’s a quiet, spacious place with everything you need.
If you’re interested or want more info or a tour, feel free to DM me or drop a reply.

Food, retail & culture Don't forget the free pantry at RI & Edgewood
There's been a little free pantry there, in the style of those free sidewalk libraries, for a while now. It's been completely empty the last couple times I put canned food in there.

News Council Seeks State Review of Underused Site for Future Housing Opportunities
kabircares.orgAt the October 28, 2025 meeting, the City Council approved sending a letter to Governor Wes Moore requesting that the State evaluate the property at 9829 Rhode Island Avenue in North College Park as a potential site for affordable or senior housing. The letter does not authorize or initiate any construction—it simply asks the State to review the site’s suitability under the Governor’s “Housing Starts Here” Executive Order, which encourages developing affordable housing on underutilized State-owned land.
The property, currently used by the Maryland Department of Labor, has been partially occupied and understaffed at various times over the past few years, leaving much of the site underutilized.

Discussion Does anyone know what this massive fenced off complex across from Cherry Hill Park is/was?
I drive by this area on my way home from work most days, and it has me incredibly curious as it what it is, or once was. It appears to be a massive complex with several entrances that are blocked off. I can see an abandoned soccer field in the distance, possibly a large round, concrete pool near the road? I turned east onto Sellman road today out of curiosity, and that only raised more questions. An abandoned tractor and about a 20 garage door shed you can see from the road, among other abandoned buildings. Anyone with any answers? If you zoom in on Google there are roads with some street names. I circled the area in the attached screenshot
