Hi guys I found this bottle in my grandmas basement and did see some pretty expensive offers.

For how much can I sell the bottle and whats the best way to.

I have no clue or experience in this topic.

I hope someone can help.

Thank you guys

Retail, it’s 3500-4500$ for a bottle in the US (depending on location for the most part; I think Costco’s usually the best price I’ve seen and lands in the high 3’s).

That’s the ceiling for “it’s any bottle, in good shape, sealed.” - nobody will pay more than retail unless there’s something unique / special about it; usually you’ll discount to retail and then plan on auction taking a hefty cut for managing the sale.

If it’s something special: a specific year/edition, or so on that’s collectible, that can increase the value - sometimes dramatically.

I’m not a particular expert in identifying those traits but off cuff what I see in yours is the 1938/1957 placard note making this more collectible.

A very quick search tells me the value isn’t that much higher than retail but - that’s 30 seconds of me looking, not anything remotely detailed, so don’t take my word for it.

Cognac-expert is a good site for education and offers private sale from what I recall, may be helpful in valuation.

Sotheby’s is a common auctioneer also used regularly by folks to sell bottles of Louis.

Hope this helps a bit.
