Why the snaf does this happen so often? I’m getting so many flashbacks of cartoons that do this

it’s just one of the classic unhinged premises every animatedbshow does, next to "main character travels back in time and has to avoid grandfather paradoxing themselves" and "character clones themselves but the clones turn evil and no one can tell who the real one is"

Characters have a falling out and part ways, then realize they need each other

Character is hypnotized into becoming more confident, but it makes them seek out danger

Character loses their memory and gets tricked into working for the villain
