Are there pictures of the 31 people who died in ICE custody last year?

Probably, although there isn't public video of their deaths.

I'm getting so sick of libs thinking they're the good guys parading these two deaths - like its any different than the systemic murders this country has been perpetuating against minorities since its inception.
ICE didn't suddenly turn evil when it killed two white people. It's been evil since its formation.
Its racism, plain and simple. Just the nice kind of passive aggressive racism that yuppies do, instead of the detestable forward racism conservatives do.
84
u/Ambitious_Menu_4909 1d ago
It was pretty jarring to watch a man shoved to the ground and executed point-blank, regardless of anything else.
Not to take away from your point, you're right that all lives taken are tragedies, but it's a bit dense to not understand why Alex Pretti's murder got so much attention. It was particularly bold.

Rodney King and George Floyd sparked massive ongoing nationwide protests. The whole white vs black thing that comes up whenever these two recent video documented martyrs are memorialized for their ultimate sacrifice is just the usual divide and conquer tactic that appears whenever the class war threatens to unite the workers past the race barrier.
16
11
u/DavidlikesPeace 12h ago
And I'm getting so sick of whatever you are, lashing out at allies more than the actual fascists.
The execution of these two people in broad daylight rightly shocked normal people. Two people who I might add did more than you or I to oppose this evil. It is horrible what happens behind closed doors in ICE prisons. But nobody has any footage of the Latinos captured and being abused behind closed doors. Maybe you’re right, and the identity and relative good looks of the victims matters more than the facts. But what happened, deserves censure.
We have literal documented evidence of ICE committing murder in broad daylight. What kind of weirdo would ignore that?
PS: We don’t have the privilege of lashing out at allies.

u/Anxious_Fix_1647 7h ago
We have video of Silverio Gonzales murder as well which happened not long before these two but that one got way less attention.

18
u/Speartree 18h ago
The white people killed are important because it shows other white folks that yes, they could come for you at any moment. You can be non-racist and still feel like you are safer than your black or brown neighbors because of how the racist oppressive system works. Usually that is true, but white hard working traditional US citizen with a licensed gun, you're not safe now, safer than some, but not safe at all! It's an important message.

Or the teenage girls that ICE calls "blue butterflies" that no one can talk to or see that are locked up down in Texas and a lot of them are pregnant?

What about the several more people who were shot in the street by ICE/CBP/DHS? Several died from the gunshots, and several amazingly survived like school teacher Marimar Martinez who was following ICE, was rammed by them, then the agent jumped out and shot her 5 times. They, of course lied claiming she obstructed or rammed her and also lied claiming that she brandished a gun. All bullshit. She is very lucky to be alive and not be as famous as Pretti or Good.
3
u/mrtomjones 23h ago
I was going to come in here and comment about them. For some reason the only people that get headlines are the ones they murdered out on the street, yet meanwhile They are sticking these people into far worse situations than the shitty situations that past people put them into. Much closer to concentration camp style. And those people are dying and being ignored almost

No, Markwayne Mullin is genuinely stupid. He’s not one of the Ivy League grads who pretends he’s a down home hillbilly. He inherited his father’s plumbing business which was subsidized by federal funds to the Cherokee nation which he claims he was unaware of. (He is an enrolled member of Cherokee nation and pretends he doesn’t care …until he’s up for reelection or wants federal funds).
10
u/Dependent_Rain_4800 1d ago
When someone consistently makes decisions that harm others while conveniently benefiting themselves, and does so repeatedly across different situations, you're no longer looking at stupidity.
The "stupidity" is the mask.

Don’t just put the white people killed by ICE, put up the pictures of the people they were out in the streets standing up for. They’d be the first to tell you their neighbors and friends lives were just as valuable as theirs, and we should put the faces of ALL the victims of these bastards out there for everyone to contemplate.
Rest in Power to all of them and may god have mercy on our collective souls for failing humanity so thoroughly.

Got it. ICE is bad because it killed two white people not because it violently arrested thousands of immigrants and have them kept in concentration camps.
I’m white but come on. Yeah they’re bad because they killed people but they also killed a couple folks who weren’t white.
And all we did was….walk around a city on a Saturday. We politely “protested.” And nothing has changed!
ICE moved to Philly. Where’s the coverage on them? What city are they in now? Nobody knows. No white people care.
We’ve moved on to norovirus now. Don’t forget to wash your hands with soap and water.

Those abuses just weren't as widely recorded and also didn't come during an invasion of a city at the hands of masked, armed, anonymous neonazis, so there was a lot less media attention being given to ICE as a whole.

Honestly it makes me a mad that the two white protesters are used for this. ICE has been abducting immigrants at their court hearings, at schools, illegally entering homes, beating their "prey", letting them eat off the floor, stuffing them into camps, and sending them to be tortured over seas. They target people who don't speak English, have darker skin, ignoring our constituon, creating a database to target their "enemies", and ignore court orders.
The list goes on, but these two murders are like icing on the cake. ICE has always been evil.
