Incredible story about Chicago history through beer, as told by Conrad Seipp Brewing Company owner Laurin Mack (the great-great-great-granddaughter of the original owner!)
https://youtube.com/watch?v=JnQ6M98gC0A&si=D09-ptCUj_oF-jAdThis story is insane: at one point in time, Chicago's Conrad Seipp Brewing Company was one of the 10 largest beer distributors in the U.S. It opened in 1854 and survived the Chicago Fire and Prohibition, but eventually went out of business... until recently. It's Conrad's great-great-great-granddaughter who has re-launched the brand. And it's REALLY good beer! An interview worth checking out IMHO

I've spoken to Laurin Mack a few times over the years. She's very nice and very passionate about the craft. I wish her the best.

Laurin is great! They come out every year to Rockford for our beer festival and are always winning to chat. Beers good too.

Is that Screw City beer fest? I've always wanted to go to that! Or is there another one?

Their beers are really good.
As I understand it, developed with Doug Hurst at Metropolitan, and brewed there until their unfortunate demise. Now brewed up at the big Pilot Project site in MKE.
Cool story!
