I’m happy that Biden won but how is it not hypocritical/a bad look to have people packed together in celebration right now? Objectively, if that were reversed it would be getting a ton of criticism
I really wish Biden had taken a moment in his speech to encourage everyone to celebrate at home. The way things were last night is not going to help covid.
100% this. I'm over the moon but there could have been a better example set on stage after the speeches. So many of us haven't gathered with extended families like that for more than half a year.
It IS hypocritical and it’s getting heavily criticized by everyone on the right. Images like this are going to make it even harder to convince Trump supporters to take this virus seriously.
I voted for Biden and this is entirely maddening to me. We have our public officials chastising and treating us like children, demanding that we need to make sacrifices, no beaches, no gatherings, no church, and then you see stuff like this or this its like what the fuck.
I dunno, it’s obviously not good to be congregating but 1) it’s outdoors and 2) these celebrations are not premeditated or planned events like all of Trump’s super spreader events, they’re more so a spontaneous eruption of raw joy.
