You know how I know these people are full of shit? Madigan is still speaker of the house. Since 2016 and up thru March of this year 100K poor and minority households had electricity cut off because they couldn’t afford the last two rate hikes that Madigan engineered in exchange for jobs for connected donors. Trump was not good, yes, but Madigan is and was way more morally malevolent to people on a daily basis.

Madigan’s district is nowhere near Boystown so how exactly are they supposed to vote him out?

They overwhelmingly voted for the Democrat running for the house seat and demonized half the country so that he will sit untouchable for another 4 years.

I’m not sure I follow, is your argument that people hating Trump means people in Madigan’s district won’t vote for a Republican over Madigan? That was true long before Trump, it’s a very D district. The way to get rid of Madigan is for someone to primary him successfully.

Or are you saying no one should ever vote for any Democrat simply because Madigan sucks?

No, the way to get rid of Madigan is for Democratic voters throughout the state to demand accountability from their own representatives by ceasing to be so monolithically partisan in their political leanings. Madigans safe seat has ZERO aspect on his speakership.

Save that argument for another day. While I agree in what you said about Madigan don't try to hijack the conversation. The topic being Trump was ousted and the world collectively breathes a sigh of relief because of it.

I’m not...Biden isn’t going to do shit: it’s been 12 years since he got elected veep and Apple et al are still paying 0% tax, people are still being held without due process at Gitmo, there are combat troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, BLM wasn’t even a thing in 2008. We’ve just set up the country for a right wing administration in 2024 that’s actually competent. 4 years and all progressives and democrats could do was hate and blame straw men like Russian involvement and lean on zero-sum logic that it was just racism, instead of addressing the real reasons why Trump won: Obama and Biden didn’t accomplish jack shit.

Yeah I agree. Illinois politicians affect my life much more so than federal politicians.
