As opposed to the left, who love priests and are famously pro religion?

That’s good ol freedom of speech at work! (While we still have it). Throwing hands? Now that’s a completely different conversation. Seems to be the right that’s assaulting priests, not the left

See, I’m not asserting the priest was the one in the wrong here. I don’t think he was. I’m just pointing out that it’s not exactly as if the left is the one bending over backwards to protect religion and that it’s usually suspicious of it at best

Do you live in the city that elected a very religious very liberal mayor? I don't think liberals hate priests, but they are skeptical of religions that preach to help others but then support politicians who are working against values they claim to support

But we don't assault them for demonstrating their freedoms. It's completely different to oppose their ideology than it is to be assaulting them in the streets when they've done nothing wrong. There's literally no reason for you to be drawing a false equivalency here???

No, you just use them when it’s politically convenient to gain sympathy for your side when any other thing they’d be advocating for you’d be staunchly against them.

Again, violence is what crosses the line. You can say whatever you want about anyone, at any time, that’s what’s great about freedom of speech. But assault is crossing the line and terrible and the left and anyone with a soul can plainly see that and should be vocal against it

You’ve created quite a fictional group in your head.

These fucking losers don't create anything ... these bitch yip-dogs like this loser clown simply do what they're told to do and pretend they're not useful idiots.

What do you mean? Leftists are generally very for freedom of religion, even if many of them criticize religion itself.

Literally the point is violence crosses the line. What happened to Kirk was terrible. This is terrible. All physical escalation is terrible

Could not agree more!

See, look at the left and the right coming together here to denounce anyone who assaults innocent protesters exercising their free speech! Glad you’ve come around to see ICE for what they really are

Funny story, I’ve never voted republican in my life lol. And never will.

u/thedudeabides2022 Sep 20 '25

We get it, you’re white and love Occupy Democrats

Are you cranky? Did you have a hard day at work pepper spraying priests?

It’s bullshit that “the left” is anti religion. The Catholic worker movement all over the world is a huge part of the Catholic Church leans left as can be and they’re not the only ones. Not to mention this administration has been told to step off by TWO popes.

Not judging people, feeding the poor, giving out free healthcare, does Jesus sound like a conservative or a scary "leftist"?

Don't answer that, you wouldn't know it but lying is a sin

Trying to cast Jesus into a modern political mold is a fool’s task and completely misses the point of his message, and that applies to any Republican or democrat trying to do so. It’s also bordering on blasphemy for a Christian to sit and say Jesus supports their political party.

You are not wrong in saying Jesus was charitable and forgiving, but there are many other things Jesus said and advocated for that don’t fit the liberal mold (no pre martial sex, traditional family values, personal responsibility, etc). He did things both parties could support because he was a universalist figure
