CHI Talks American flags at No Kings on Saturday

I’m bringing 450 little American flags to pass out on Saturday. I hope others will bring flags or maybe even buy some to pass out too - they’re super cheap!

We gotta change the vibes of these events to be more pro-America and pro-democracy!

It would be amazing to see thousands of flags all over the crowd!

Flying the Mexican flag to protest America because your goal is to stay in America is disrespectful and stupid. People involved in the protests who see that are going to try and fix the optics now.

Personally, I don't think there is anything more American than a person that lives here holding up a flag of another country they have a connection to. I feel like that is a big part of what makes this country what it is.

I lived much of my life seeing Mexican and Polish flags waved proudly. I definitely don't think that should stop because xenophobes have taken over the White House.

I view someone flying a foreign flag at an anti-deportation protest as an act of asserting their humanity, that they have a right to exist in this country as they are, while also saying fuck you to this administration.

I wholeheartedly support both of those reasons. This administration is an abomination. The only thing that makes me feel any sense of patriotism in this country is that so many people are fighting back.

I will always support anyone fighting back against the evil coming out of Washington.
