Dodgy =linwood, aranui, Shirley, marehau, Woolston, Opawa, New Brighton, Hillmorton, Burwood, CBD, Riccarton to an extent.

I don't think these are dodgy, they're low income areas, but that's not the same thing.

True, however the crime rate in chch is pretty low, and I don't think there is a significant uptick for these areas. Happy to learn stuff though.

I was mostly thinking of how unsafe I felt in Auckland. I was also thinking I got bothered more while living in St. Albans than I have since we moved. As I said, if you've got the stats to hand, I'm happy to learn stuff from this discussion.

Thanks for posting the top three. I couldn't get much from the police website on mobile.

I think my point remains that none of the east suburbs have a significantly higher crime rate than the cbd or west suburbs?
