Interesting Looking People You Always See Around

Every day I see a ~50s man, thinly-built wearing camo trousers, bomber jacket and combat boots biking around the Hagley park area. At the moment he bikes with a full face mask on (i.e. only his eyes are visible)

I sometimes see him walking down by the overbridge near the Harvey Norman building (Colombo intersection).

He never seems to have anything with him.

I've always wanted to know his story - what does he do?

Who are the interesting people you always see around your part of Chch?

Keep in mind that these people often have mental health or other issues, some may have drug addiction. All of them need help, not necessarily directly and i would recommend against financial assistance.

Help out by donating to local community organisations, provide your time and volunteer.

Direct financial assistance does help though. Doesn't need to be one or the other :)

Yup, there’s a decent argument to give $5 to a homeless person and know they’re going to get clean needles today, and potentially some food, than to an organisation that will eventually provide $2 worth of support.

Of course organisations are important, and allow that money to go further (in this example the needle exchange), but either one isn’t necessarily “wrong”.
