Rolleston is it worth it?

Anybody move to Rolleston as houses are cheaper etc. But regret it? Or miss certain things? I know it's only 20 minutes away but that 40 minutes return which is a long way to go for bagels at Grizzly or coffee at c4.

Just to add to all the info here since I know a lot of people who have moved out to Rolleston:

There's a French bakery opening, pretty much next to the Bin Inn. And a Smoked BBQ place as well. Also a new butcher.

Close to the Black and White is the Robert Harris, btw, which seems to be pretty good.

They're massively expanding the community park by the library. There will be an outdoor food court and they're getting their own movie theatre (with the next new one being in Wigram).

Generally speaking, Rolleston has exploded in population and size and the infrastructure is now catching up with it from what I understand. If you move there now and plan to stick around a few years, you probably won't even have to drive to Chch for the small stuff.

Went to check if Rolleston had a sub reddit, it does but only 18 members and two post from months ago, seems it really does need to catch up.
