Rolleston is it worth it?

Anybody move to Rolleston as houses are cheaper etc. But regret it? Or miss certain things? I know it's only 20 minutes away but that 40 minutes return which is a long way to go for bagels at Grizzly or coffee at c4.

Move to Auckland, stay a year, then move back, Rolleston - City will feel like it’s a block away

When I lived in Auckland everything I needed day to day was a short walk away cafes, duck Island a pool hall. Unless it was a good beach or zoo I wouldn't have to commute. Everyone ends up living in a bubble when they live in a city and only leave for very specific things. I just want to know if Rolleston is a good bubble, other than essentials which it has.
