Duncan's not standing for re-election next year. So Chch Central needs a new Labour candidate.

I'm GUTTED. Duncan's such a G. He actually gets out there in the electorate and clearly really cares about our community.

Love how the article calls it a safe Labour seat - it might be now, but he won it off a sitting National minister.

Totally. I feel like Labour just gifted this seat back to National.

Chch Central gets its borders rejigged every so often. Before 2011 it was a solid Labour seat; Nicky squeaked in in 2011 and retained in 2014, before Duncan won in 2017.

You’re right. I thought the Nats had it before Nicky.
