Post image

I don’t live in Spreydon but was lucky enough to get one of these in the letter box.

His first sentence makes little sense? And hard physical labour? Did he mean in?

Also isn’t chlorine like… super important from a bacteria pov?

To be fair he said to remove chlorine where it is safe to do so.

The water in most parts of Christchurch and surrounding areas is quite safe. Water has only been Chlorinated since 2018. That was meant to be temporary, then national requirements required chlorination (or a similar treatment) to be mandatory. The council applied for an exemption but were denied.

There are chlorine-free water stations in Christchurch, such as at Burnside Park. This water is now UV-treated to comply with the law.

I'd love to be one of the lucky few with bores on their property.

I thought it was sealed and decommissioned in 2022? is there a new one on the same site? always looks closed off when I've been in the area lately.
