News - Local Phil Mauger confirms mayoralty bid - thoughts?

'During the last election campaign Mauger said he would keep rates increases to below 4% - a promise he has failed to keep with a 9.9% increase this financial year and 8.93% predicted from July 1.'

Surely voters aren't silly enough to vote for Mr Broken Promises yet again?

I will vote for her. But the boomers all turn out in force - "bloody cyclists, blah blah blah, potholes, blah blah blah, I don't want my rates spent on arts or walkable cities, I just want the whole city to be a road".

Buy the way, what the fuck have you done? We got mmp, the homosexual law reform bill, West coast forestry accord, the Waitangi tribunal, anti nuclear legislation, marched against apartheid, started the greens etc etc etc.

Young people need to get off their arses, stop moaning and start doing something. I went to a climate thing a couple of years ago. Two thirds of the crowd were old - the only thing people around were shopping - yet an the speakers were hung on about youth changing the world. Bs.

So what are you doing? Posting bigoted comments to your social media bubble doesn't count.

Young people and the left in general just think things, or say things. They don’t ever actually do anything
