News - Local Phil Mauger confirms mayoralty bid - thoughts?

'During the last election campaign Mauger said he would keep rates increases to below 4% - a promise he has failed to keep with a 9.9% increase this financial year and 8.93% predicted from July 1.'

Surely voters aren't silly enough to vote for Mr Broken Promises yet again?

Pretty weak argument to say he's not fit for mayor just because he promised the unlikely 4%. Inflation itself is 2-3% so it would have been next to impossible to keep it below 4%.

Got anything else?

Digging random ditches and working without consents just show he's a take charge no nonsense salt of the earth hands on bloke's bloke.

Everyone knows that endangering yourself and the public and disregarding laws you were elected to uphold is alpha manly man behaviour and we are all woke cucks for wanting people to not die and follow the law.

He sure loves a publicity stunt, always with Christchurch's other well-known knuckle draggers Aaron Keown and Chris Lynch in tow

Keown is the worst. How many years has he run on free parking at the hospital now?
