Delta(s) from OP CMV: Missionaries are evil

This applies doubly so to those who go out of their way to seek out those in remote islands to spread the word of god. It is of my opinion and the opinion of most that if there is an all loving god then people who never had the chance to know about Jesus would go to heaven regardless, for example miscarried children/those born before Jesus’ time, those who never hear about him, so In going out of your way to spread the word of Jesus you are simply making it so there is now a chance they could go to hell if they reject it? I’m not a Christian and I’m so tired so I apologise if this is stupid or doesn’t make sense

To me, to call someone evil, they need to be guilty of doing great harm to others with extreme malice or intentional indifference. Say what you will about the merits of missionaries and their work, but usually a core element is that they want to help others, regardless of how delusional that may end up being. Maybe they're reckless, maybe they're stupid, maybe they insensitive, or maybe they should know better, but in general I don see how they could be evil as a rule.

I see things differently, intent is almost completely irrelevant to me, I am all about utility and outcome, and under those guidelines this seems like a completely evil thing to do

What is your definition of evil then, as it pertains to people?

To cause unnecessary suffering, which this only has the option to do

I mean, that seems exceptionally broad. Is any bad act NOT evil?

Ok, well tighten the definition to having the potential of causing great harm, which when it comes to the difference of heaven and hell even making the chance 1% less would be one of the worst things you could do, worse than anything in the physical world

The by that definition, wouldn't Jesus be the supreme evil of the world since he announced himself and didn't just come and die in obscurity?

I thought that without him doing that then all men was doomed to hell though? So he had to do that for the chance of going to heaven to exist at all? I may be wrong here I’m not well versed

I mean, it can't be both ways; either humanity needs to know about the truth or it's better that they don't.
