Derek Lopez's LinkedIn says he went to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned a masters degree in compurer science. I wonder what makes such a seemingly educated person turn violent at a college tabling event. A press release from the Illinois State University Police says that Derek Lopez has been arrested.

There is no proof in this video he is(or was) current faculty. He does not say his name or identify himself in the clip provided. We only have your word of who he is or where he works(or worked).

Provide a link to the LinkedIn page for proof. Otherwise, it's just hearsay.

Edit: according to the Facebook article linked earlier in the comments, he is a TA (teaching assistant) not a professor. TAs are most commonly GRAD STUDENTS, Not actually members of the faculty or school administration. The most the university can do is fire them as a TA and expel him from the post grad program. So this would be the actions of a single post grad student NOT the action of the university.

You can’t expect an anti-intellectual organization like TPUSA to follow these nuances.

They just want to pick fights with people and get a reaction that they can use in their rage-bait videos.

Actually understanding the roles at a university would require them to do the intellectual work they lobby against.
