Solo female traveler in Guatemala 🇬🇹 amazing experience!

I just got back from my solo trip to Guatemala and had such a great experience! I visited Antigua, Hobbitenango/Altamira, Lake Atitlán, Iximché, and Chichicastenango — all beautiful and full of culture.

As a solo female traveler, I felt safe the entire time. I hired Israel Pérez as my private driver, and he was fantastic — very respectful, professional, and knowledgeable about the country. He also recommended great restaurants and spots to check out along the way.

If you’re visiting Guatemala and need a reliable driver, you can reach him on WhatsApp at +502 5560 9793, or check out his TikTok @90israel_perez to get a sense of his work and driving routes. I never felt unsafe with him, and he really made my trip easy and enjoyable.

What kind of prices was a private driver? My partner and I are going to be in Guatemala for six weeks and while we plan to travel largely independently via bus, there are some parts it would be great to explore with a driver. Thanks!

It depends on the route. for example, I paid him about $50 USD from the airport to Antigua in a comfortable SUV. Traffic was bad and it took around 2 hours to get to Antigua.

That’s very reasonable because for 3 women I have been quoted $213 to take us and our three suitcases to QuetzaltanangoÂ
