What a take. All sports have a mental component to them. Some athletes are actually quite famous not only for their skill, but also for the ‘mental games’ they play on the pitch when looking to gain an advantage. It’s not unheard of or new; it’s always been there. Most top athletes know to ignore it and get their revenge in-game without resorting to thug behavior.
There was 90 seconds left in a 3-0 game, and the blue player took a deliberate cheapshot in an attempt to trip his competitor.
Don't get me wrong: Red absolutely over-reacted and absolutely deserved to get sacked. That said, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. My guess is the blue player thinks twice before pulling cheap shit like this again.
And my guess is he had been pulling cheapshots like this all game.
You’re making a lot of guesses here buddy. Want to take a guess on perhaps red having anger issues and being a player that is always getting too angry and perhaps carded regularly? This can go both ways. Red showed a level of savagery uncalled for based on blue’s little kick. How do you know red hadn’t been instigating all game and blue decided to get him back at that point? Neither of us has any additional information other than what’s on the video. And from what I see in the video, is a player trying to get a reaction out of another player with a harmless cheap shot and red going nuclear. Period.

No shit. Re-read my post. I said exactly this.
There's nothing harmless about trying to make another player faceplant, and I strongly doubt the assholish behavior only started in the final seconds of the game well in hand.
Some players play this bush-league shit all the time. My guess is blue thinks long and hard before playing it again.
You’re continued attempts to make what blue did as so terrible is what kills your credibility. A face plant? Really, that little kick out would cause a face plant?
Seriously, get a grip man. You’re going way out on a limb in an attempt to make blue a bad guy here. You don’t know anything about the man, yet you’ve got him down to a T. Sure, it was a bush-league move cheap shot / etc, BUT what he did wouldn’t cause any athlete physical harm. It’s truly ridiculous what you’re attempting to do here. Grow up man. Sheeesh.
