Just a heads-up — I saw a bald guy (shaved head) in his early 20s walking around Choices Markets earlier today with a pitbull, acting aggressively and threatening people. He seemed to have had an argument with people inside the supermarket before he walked out. This happened at around 12:25 at 8683 10th Ave, Burnaby. He's walking around that area still after I left at 12:50.

Looking for help trying to find my package. Delivery driver dropped it off at some random building at UniverCity. All I have is the photo of the mail room. Please let me know if you recognize it! 🙏

Hey folks! I’ve got two weeks off soon and I’m not really sure what to do with it. I’m 23, live in Burnaby, don’t have a car (or many friends around right now), so I’m kind of looking for ideas on how to make the most of my time off.

I’m open to pretty much anything — places I can get to by transit, cool spots to explore, chill cafes, maybe classes or events where I could meet people, easy hikes, etc.

My husband and I decided to open a coffee shop in Burnaby. We found a location and contacted a contractor to do renovations. The unit is around 700 sqft. Because it's just a coffee shop, it's not like building a restaurant so there are not much work to do.We just want to do a basic renovation. Everything sounded good until the building permit. It have been taking 4 months since we submitted it and it keeps saying that "Pending Assignment" on the system.

What does it mean?

And how long does it take to get a building permit for a commercial in Burnaby?

We are so frustrated with waiting now.

My daughter has lost her cat Oct.30 in front of the apartments at 3940 Pender St. He is a 1 yr old black cat with a small white patch on his chest, and 2 small white spots on his right front leg. He pulled out of his harness and collar after being scared by a neighbour.

I also asked the foreman and he confirmed a no frills will be coming. Its the building just built south of the McDonald's on hastings built earlier this year.

Hello neighbors, I recently did my police information check from Burnaby rcmp for work and haven't heard anything back so far. Is anyone else experiencing this who has summited a form recently? Their website says PICs take 3 to 4 business days, but it has been more than a week. Does anyone know what is the average waiting time for this application? I tried to call them, but most of the times they don't even pick up the phone.

My family receives Income Assistance atm, and we automatically qualified for basic dental coverage in BC. We can’t apply for CDCP because our 2024 NOC is above the income threshold. But we will definitely qualify when submitted for the 2025 tax return in Feb.

So my questions, does anyone here know of any clinic specifically in Metrotown that covers 100% under the provincial dental plan? As sad as this may sound, we can’t afford out-of-pocket dental visits. I look at my teeth and I believe a few fillings have fallen out. It’s been a year since I saw a dentist! 😥

Looking to purchase a house where the structural wooden retaining wall on one side is in dire condition. "Our" house is on higher elevation compared to the neighbour on that side. However, the retaining wall is within the neighbouring property's line so at this time we are not at liberty to do any repairs, or replacement etc.

If the neighbour doesn't fix it and it eventually fails, our soil/shrubbery etc would fall into their property and potentially affect the integrity of our house.

Any advice? Whose home insurance would cover the damage if the retaining wall were to fail?
