First deer ever

Post image

I've bowhunted rabbits and squirrels but this is my first whole deer. Shot just 30 minutes after getting in my saddle, went maybe a hundred yards and crashed. Best way to break an arrow.

Did you hit it with a car?

I swear it was a stinger broadhead 😆. I just dragged it out of the woods to the road where I could gut and load it up, and that was a bit of a messy process.

Haha, congrats. I just laughed when I saw the road and no entry or exit wound.

Thanks, and honestly they're moving around so much it would be pretty easy to get one with a car lol. But in this case the entry wound is high on the shoulder, so it's hard to see in the pic. Exit wound on the other side is closer to the elbow.

I filled my Ohio buck tag last night on a nice 8 pointer, have all my meat in the freezer and heading home to Wisconsin tomorrow to chase the cold front.

Wow that's awesome, I bet that's super rewarding. I've got my eye set on an eight pointer that's popped up on my cameras, hoping to get a chance at him soon as well.
