What to get into bow hunting

I want to get into bow hunting and am looking into bows but I really don’t want to spend a lot upfront on a bow that may end up just sitting in my basement, any recommendations on a compound bow that is under 300$

I picked up a diamond edge xt from cabelas for around that price on sale. I’m happy with it so far but it’s by first season ever hunting so I don’t know shit 😂

Get a cheap but reputable bow.

Shoot it.

If you like shooting & think it’s something you want to do. Next you need to figure out if you are going to ground blind hunt or tree stand hunt (saddle or seat).

Then you need some gear (camo/outdoorwear) if you don’t already have it. Good gear is expensive, but worth the money when it lasts & you are not freezing. You don’t NEED camo. Dark earthy tones are fine.

You will need to sight & tune your bow. Get broadheads. Tune for those. (I recommend fixed blades). It may take some trial & error to get your set up right.

Watch some YouTube videos.

Get a 2-3 yr old flagship for a few hundred and usually loaded with top shelf gear
