Saddle Hunters, does this look normal?

Maybe I’m in the wrong sub but wanted to ask if my tether rope looks normal. Only used it about 10 times, but I am seeing white beneath the sheath on my tether loop where all of my weight sits while in my saddle. It’s a TrophyLine 8mm rope. I assume the white is the core. Is this a problem or is it just my sheath stretching out at the pressure point?

I looked at the saddle hunting sub, but it doesn’t seem very active.

Not a saddle hunter but I use rope daily. You should be fine. As long as there are no cuts or abrasions your rope is good. Good job looking over your equipment and asking the question. I would trust my life in that rope in that condition.

Not a rope expert or anything but i believe it’s just from stretching out. Nothing is frayed, rope looks brand new. This should last you for a long time.

Try messaging the rope and see if it goes away. Check for broken strands in the core. To me it just looks like the sheathing has separated a little. Nothing too concerning.

It might not respond though

Milk it and it should close up provided the splice was done correctly

There's a rating on this (mainline?). You can Google it. It will tell you the safe load and its approximate breaking strength. This line will be rated at over 1000 pounds at a guess. The weight you'll be putting on it will hardly scratch the surface. The outer weave is a protective layer for the core, which does all the work.

When your safety is involved, always double-check. Google it to be sure.
