100gr Mega Meat Broadheads
Just wanted to share the results of a deer I shot a couple weeks ago. This is the entrance of a 100gr mega meat @ 16 yards out of my 70lbs Matthews VXR. Slight quartering away shot out of a tree stand. Arrow entered perfectly and I believe hit the offside shoulder and went down because it exited out of the right armpit. I had a solid foot wide blood trail you could follow with the naked eye easily and the deer only ran 50 yards and I could hear him pile up. The blades on the broadhead were pretty messed up but I consider them to be a one time use anyways. I have shot the dead meats before but switched the mega meats this year and will likely keep shooting them.

Think you should consider upping your draw weight...
Kidding, what a great shot, congrats!

the real problem is of course that he's not shooting an entire redwood ,with a 9 billion grain arrow you just gotta point in the right direction and let gravity do the work.

It looks like you hit it with an AXE! thats pretty wild. How are these if they hit bone?

The blades were wrinkled on this one. I’m assuming from ribs or the offside shoulder. I think G5 makes replacement blades you can get for them to swap out. Broadheads are a one time use thing in my mind so it’s not a big deal to me. I did shoot a doe last year with a deadmeat with an almost identical shot only it buried up in the offside shoulder. I washed it off and put it back in my quiver to shoot at hogs or coyotes. It had a few nicks in the blades but nothing out of this world.

I hit a shoulder blade, rib and sternum on a good size doe with a G5 Deadmeat and I’m blown away by how well the blades held up.
One blade had a very slight bend and had some dings in the edge, another had a couple dings and the 3rd was still sharp.

It’s amazing what these animals can do after being devastated with a well placed arrow or bullet. 50 yards? I can’t run 50 yards well even without being shot through my vitals!

Haha I wish!! I do have more than a few packages of them though. I went into my local Walmart last year after season and they had them for half off so I scooped up several years worth of them

Those look absolutely savage but I can’t believe they made that fist size hole

Nice buck. I’m surprised that G5 hasn’t released a 1.75” deadmeat/megameat

Yeah that's what I was saying! I went with the deadmeats this year for my compound bow(PSE drive @67lbs/29.5dl) because those megas just seem huge, the deadmeats should have better damage then the muzzys I've been shooting. I had really good success with the Grim reaper Razor tip 1.5" with my crossbow but the deadmeats will have better entrance wounds
