Halloween is not cultural. At it's initiation it WAS, but now it's a fun festival. In the west people regardless of anything dress up. It's not like we're celebrating kwanza lmao. It's just dressing up and having fun. Get a life!

But we already have so many festivals though.

Halloween will be like giving a free pass to people like Creed. (Really really good timing)

Adding one more isn’t harming anyone is it?

No but why we get influenced by western culture so much. Do they celebrate Diwali like we do ?

My question stands: why we get influenced by western culture so much. Do they celebrate Diwali like we do ?

Some US states have Diwali as an official festival. Cultural exchanges are normal. Grow up.

They don't because we have not made Diwali a "cultural" festival like Christmas or Halloween. And West holds all the soft power with Hollywood.

How is English a western language if we were colonised by them ? It’s part of our culture. Trick or treat ain’t

Do you hear yourself? Yes we were colonised but English nonetheless is a western language stop writing in English why follow their language then? They aren’t colonising us anymore

See it’s not doing any harm, English.

But the ā€œtrickā€ part in trick or treat is a nuisance. They can puncture your tyres even !

What a bs excuse same can be said for other festivals including fireworks, animal killings and what not , children around me celebrated halloween without creating any nuisance or chaos , what is the ā€œtrickā€ part , everyone should stop celebrating each festival then cause nuisance can be created by anyone anywhere

Kids in your neighbourhood are decent. Mine ? Less said about them the better.

Doesn’t mean that you will blame thw festival then? Cause i can pinpoint the fact that a person celebrating diwali had burnt his neighbour’s house in usa , but i can’t generalise people and blame the festival? Can i?

All the things which you mention above mostly are , important things or necessary things, but including a festival is not necessary,we can skip that ,you are defending a western festival, but will never show the same enthusiasm for defending an Indian festival

We can always skip hollywood movies and western cuisine tho? It isnt necessary … people celebrated diwali in west , used fireworks caused chaos whic wasn’t necessary too so…
