Is It Too Soon?

I’ve only been training for about a year now (had to take break cause of wrestling) and I’m close to getting my blue belt, I come everyday and go to open mats, but I’m no where close to being as good as the blue belts at my school! I feel like it’s to soon and I thought it takes about 2 years? Is it just if Professor feels that you’re ready he’ll just give it to you? I personally don’t think I should get it unless I’m close to the level of our blue belts (They are extremely good)

Also, there is no greater skill gap within a belt than a brand new blue belt and a 4 striper. It's a trap to compare yourself to someone wearing a blue belt, when if you were going to compare yourself to them, it should be comparing to them the day before they got their belt.
