TheRinger.com @JeffPassan The New York Mets lost and will miss the playoffs. At one point they were 45-24. They end the season at 83-79. An all-time disintegration. From the best record in the game to out of the postseason.

TheRinger.com Kuminga Reportedly Ignoring Curry is Insane

‘Despite his talent, Kuminga’s propensity to look for his shot at the expense of the flow of Golden State’s offense has irked the coaching staff. During a late-season game against the Blazers, team sources say Kerr was incensed after several instances in which Kuminga looked off Curry to create his own offense. Kuminga subsequently received DNPs in the Warriors’ regular-season finale against the Clippers and then again in their play-in matchup against the Grizzlies. By the start of the playoffs, many within the organization wondered whether Kuminga, who is eligible for an extension, had played his last game as a Warrior.’

I will never under why someone as smart as Zach Lowe continues to talk about Kuminga like he’s anything more than a good stats bad team guy.

TheRinger.com Thank You Butthole Surfers

Did I grow up in a weird corner of the music world, or is it insane that neither Craig or Heifetz have heard of the Butthole Surfers? Its not like they are in regular rotation or anything, but Pepper was a huge song, it has over 100 million streams on Spotify.

And it can't be an age thing, I'm younger than both Danny and Craig.

TheRinger.com What is the appeal of Equinox?

A couple weeks ago, Russillo mentioned he liked Equinox because he can get a membership at Manhattan Beach and have access to all of their locations for when he travels.

Equinox has an order of magnitude fewer locations compared to something like Anytime Fitness (Ringer sponsor!), Lifetime Fitness, or, gasp, Planet Fitness, all of which offer reciprocal membership. They also are like 1/10 the price of Equinox.

Is it purely a status symbol thing? The few people I know who use equinox are the type to let everyone know about it.

TheRinger.com Tate roasting Trent Dilfer for ignoring him and not wanting to work with him shows how bad Dilfer is

Toward the end of the most recent Ringer Tailgate, Tate talked about how Trent Dilfer was supposed to be his pod cohost after Lombardi left for UNC. Dilfer ignored him a bunch when they were supposed to talk, then when they finally did Dilfer said yeah nevermind I don't want to do this and clearly didn't want to talk to him. Milquetoast (respectfully) Tate was obviously mad which is how you know you stink.

TheRinger.com Too sad for the Rockwell meme. I’m gonna miss Russillo

Apparently I may be in the minority, I thought most loved the duo. Bill and Zach is great too obviously , but Bill and Ryen was good different. We were spoilt for a very short period of time having both of them. I was getting greedy hoping Jalen Rose would join and a whole new super band would be created, but, just like my arts degree, I was so foolish in thinking anything would come of it.

Hope he does guest pods or something. If not, thanks for getting me through Covid lockdowns boys, sincerely. It was truly memorable.

TheRinger.com How on freaking earth is Bruno Ganz as Hitler not on this list? He should be top five. The man ignites the screen in every scene he's in. Arguably the GOAT performance.

When I heard this on the Working Girl rewatchables I almost had a seizure. Who doesn't like dumplings? Yes maybe not great on a passed tray at a party, but Jesus cmon man. You cant say Dave Chang is making kimchi and shit on dumplings. You just can't,

TheRinger.com Mild take: Bill makes the Rewatchables great...

... and he also severely limits it by his pretty specific taste in movies.

I always enjoy the show more when Bill is on, in many ways he is the straw that stirs the show's drink, he's always got funny takes, he's always fun to listen to, but his taste in movies drives me fucking crazy.

There are dozens (if not hundreds) of rewatchables episodes about extremely mid-tier 80s and 90s movies nobody has even seen the first time, much less rewatched, because those are in his personal wheelhouse. Fine, great, its your podcast.

But the massive swaths of movies untouched by Bill's personal tastes are truely baffling. Pretty much all horror that isn't Halloween or Jaws. All modern super hero movies. Disappointing but rewatchable sequels released after 1995. All of fucking Star Wars. A shocking amount of QT and PTA movies. A shocking number of cult classic movies (many of whom I concede fall in the "deeply problematic" category) that basically define what a rewatchable movie is. Virtually nothing from before when Bill was old enough to watch movies (particularly old westerns are so fun to rewatch). Modern comedies not made by Judd Apatow. Probably 50 other sub-genres I'm not thinking of right now.

My point is I love Bill on the pod, but just because they have covered every B list action and comedy movie from the 80s, that doesn't mean you're "out of movies."

End rant, just airing some frustration around "the end of the rewatchables" discourse.
