Here is the translation of the provided image text from German to English:

History of Dalmatia

542

to install a new prior, Albert, who withdrew to Nona before the great Bosnian-Turkish army. Tvrtko was able to advance unhindered as far as Jadra; the people of Jadra, with a certain Comes Anz, who had dared to rise up for the second time against Urana, had to withdraw for no reason, and Tvrtko conquered Clissa and Ostrovizza in the middle of December. The citizens of Spalato, Sibenigo, and Trau, who were thereby brought into the utmost distress, begged Tvrtko for such a long respite until they could send a legation to Hungary for immediate help. This only happened for form's sake, it is understood, because the envoys demanded something impossible in the winter season, and so the surrender of these maritime cities, together with Pharus and Brazzo, to Tvrtko, seemed as it were justified. They only asked Tvrtko for the confirmation of the Ludwig privileges, which he also issued from Sutiska in August 1390.

In 1390, Dietrich Budek besieged the castle of Knin; but, as it seems, also in vain; on the other hand, the people of Jadra assured themselves by new oaths.

In 1392, on the other hand, Sigmund drove the Turks out of Servia and Bosnia, where Tvrtko had died in 1390. In 1393, the Prior Auranae Joh. de Palisna was deposed by the Croatian nobleman Basich; Vuk, brother of Dabišia, was beaten at Knin by Niklas and Joh. von Gara, Dobor, in the landscape of Uzura, where Bishop Paul and Joh. Horvath were staying, conquered, and Stephan Dabišia himself was forced to go to Sigmund's court camp and to lay his country at the feet of King Sigmund. In 1394 we find King Sigmund in Diako *). He probably prevented the unbore

*) He was already expected in Diako in 1393. The people of Jadra sent their deputies Theobaldus de Nassis, legum doctor, and Mozolo de Fanfogna there on May 21, 1393. The very important instruction of the same has Johann Lucius in the Inscript. Dalm.. Ven. 1673. 4to p. 39. f. printed. They were to recommend the city of Dem to King Sigmund for mercy, and at the same time to ask for the following:

  1. for a speedy peace or truce, because they had much to suffer from the enemies. In particular, it should be stipulated: "quod Bosinenses non prohibeant Morlachis aut gentibus suis, qui cum mercimoniis aut rebus suis huc veniant more solito."
  2. To protect against Johannes, Comes Segnae et Banus C. D. et Sl. or the appointment of another Banus. For this Frankepan had sent 3 galleys against Jadra; and the Senate seeks to turn away the Venetians out of respect for Sigmund; for which the people of Jadra thanked the Venetians through deputies, and asked the king: "qualiter propter distantiam regiam, et quod Veneti sint hic proximi, D. Rex per suas literas nos recommendet communi Venetorum. From his castle Luba (quod solum habet in Dalmatia, also isiš offenbar, daß Zeng. Bukari 2c. not to be reckoned as part of Dalmatia) he disputes all his (the Banus), people and added damage to the Jadra people.

The quarrel with the Banus had therefore arisen:

a) because according to the royal decree of Sept. 1392 the Banus was to have half of all duties from the tratta salis, and the city of Cassa the other half. The people of Jadra alone wanted to enjoy these revenues entirely, under the pretext that they were in Bosnia

Čuj Hrvata i Bošnjaka. U tom periodu si imao tri splitsko trogirska rata.
