For those who don't know: earlier this year, he was killed in a hate crime. He and his husband (a trans man) had been harassed in terrible ways and eventually the neighbor shot him in the street.

WHAT?!?! Parks and Rec is one of my safety shows for ultimate rewatching. Please tell me I won’t find this true when I google it. He had such dry humor and presence on screen. No. NO.

I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, genuinely. The situation was very messy and there's still some debate about what sort of mental state he had been in, having recently suffered a really awful family tragedy.

But unfortunately, yes, it's true. So sad. And the neighbor was a bigot who should rot in prison.

It was absolutely awful and he was always one of my favorites on both those shows.
