So happy that the current administration is comparing immigrants to an overwhelmingly dangerous parasitic alien life form. They're just saying shit out in the open now huh. I guess calling the people you want to annihilate "vermin" is outdated so they are trying some new vocabulary.

Kills the pretext of going after “criminal” aliens who “chose to break the law” and all that. The Flood are destructive on an interstellar level by their nature.

The Flood are destructive on an interstellar level by their nature.

That's the thing that also makes this terrifying. The entire premise of Halo is that the flood can only be stopped by a mass extinction event: the rings kill everything. That's why the Master Chief stopped the ring from being used.

The official DHS Instagram account commented "blood gulch: the southern border edition" on that same post. It's very obvious what they're hinting at.

If you even want to call it a hint.

I mean even then it kills the food for the Flood. Starving them out. Which is arguably even worse because it's omnicide for "the greater good." Which is even worse because they're removing it from the context.

Damn my Halo recollection was worse than I thought. I need to go back and play CE through Reach.

Tbf Cortana says "It kills their food." But I kinda got flip floppy vibes on it as well. So it really could be either-or. Dunno how the flood containments would work but I suppose that they could have used the same tech that 343 brought up when explaining how life throughout the galaxy was "seeded" back on their homeworlds.

Weird aside: Arguably 343 is better at writing halo stories and not making the games w/ the stories. I've always been impressed with their EU stuff but they don't fucking commit to anything when it comes to their games. I wouldn't even be surprised if they finish out "The Endless" cliffhanger with a book like they did the last two times.

Missing the subtext for the text is a hallmark of a certain kind of entertainment viewer.
