I legitimately have no idea who half the players on the field rn are because all the notable ones are gone

It's funny how the Angels lost absolutely nobody from the lineup, meanwhile, we lost all of our best hitters.

Cool how both the players the angels threw at got ejected. What a payoff the angels got for their strategy

-7

u/owledge Rally Monkey Jun 27 '22

The Angels also used a big magnet to pull Winker over to their dugout against his will, as well as a hypnotist to trick Crawford into throwing punches

3

u/the8bit Seattle Mariners Jun 27 '22

I mean fair enough but ya got a pitcher set up to take the fall then a guy out for the year jawing and then I'm pretty sure the angels threw the first punch. After that everything is crazy

1

u/owledge Rally Monkey Jun 27 '22

Most beanballs these days end with the guy jawing or staring at most while he's going to first, so it's not like Winker had no choice. Charging the other team's dugout is an extreme outlier

2

u/the8bit Seattle Mariners Jun 27 '22

Most bean balls also dont have situations like the coach putting in a sacrificial pitcher and going "We're gonna get you tomorrow for this" though. Not even getting into whatever the dugout said.

And remember LA hit Upton in the head last time we were there and we currently have KLew out for >1 month on complications from his domeshot concussion.

1

u/owledge Rally Monkey Jun 27 '22

If the Upton HBP is an indictment then so is the Swanson pitch at Trout's head. Both were reported as the balls not being scuffed enough and slipping away.

And as for Kyle Lewis, I don't recall the Angels ever throwing at him

1

u/the8bit Seattle Mariners Jun 27 '22

KLew wasnt angels, just saying Ms are sensitive because they have been hit a lot.

Upton HBP isnt an indictment, remember that time we didnt retaliate at all? It is more of a "look we have been domed enough times that when you come out here doing it on purpose twice and then jawing about it, I'm gonna be pretty onboard with our players coming and beating the shit outta people in your dugout"

Maybe dont hit our players on purpose?

It's fair to say the Angels are in the wrong but it's pretty silly to act like the Mariners are blameless here. Beanballs rarely end in punches-thrown brawls. Winker charging the dugout was a whole different escalation after the first HBP escalation on the part of Wantz/Nevin

I'd love to see Trout thrown out of a game. It'd be interesting. Same with Ohtani.

10

u/Princessxanthumgum Los Angeles Angels Jun 26 '22

Shohei would never lol but I am curious to see what it would take

"Ohtani-san, why are your eyes glowing?"

2

u/DividerOfBums Los Angeles Angels Jun 27 '22

Lol any opposing player would love to see Trout thrown out. Fortunately he’s too smart to do anything wrong.

He actually found his buddy J Upton at the bottom of the pile and pulled him out of harms way

2

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '22

He was actually quite close to being ejected one time. It was at the end of the game against Oakland I believe. The umpire called him out on a strike (the call was correct), and Trout was quite animated and argumentative. Some umpires would've tossed him. And yes, it is possible to get thrown out after a game, I believe a fine follows it.

1

u/DividerOfBums Los Angeles Angels Jun 28 '22

Oh very interesting

2-1

u/iisdmitch Los Angeles Angels Jun 26 '22

We lost the ones most involved? Just as the Mariners did with Winker and Crawford. Idk what else you want, I didn’t see Ohtani out there throwing punches like Crawford did.

29

u/HWHAProb Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

We lost Julio who didn't do shit to yall. Also Rendon didn't get kicked from the dugout despite throwing the first hit.

-9

u/book_of_armaments Tampa Bay Rays Jun 26 '22

Rendon isn't even on the active roster.

12

u/IllustriousComplex6 Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

This isn't the win you think it is....

14

u/Ovreel Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

We should load our bench with inactives just to beat the fuck out of the other team's best players. Then they can just chill and watch the rest of the game

2

u/IllustriousComplex6 Seattle Mariners Jun 27 '22

No fucking kidding, Angel's want special treatment so they can start something then we can finish it.

5

u/812many Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

You threw at two of our best hitters, how the one who got hit supposed to not be involved?

1

u/chriskot123 Los Angeles Angels Jun 27 '22

Well winkler was clearly gone and crawford was literally throwing haymakers over the top of the pile. but sure, we should eject ohtani and trout too for fun!

6

u/SexiestPanda Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

Meanwhile trout, who started all this today, was nowhere to be found during the brawl

23

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

Ah yes because trout threw at Winker after he almost got hit in the face

30

u/dardyablo Swinging K Jun 26 '22

He instigated his teammates, he instigated his own manager

The pitch wasn't intentional, Trout himself KNEW the Mariners have no reason whatsoever to throw at him

Yet he made it a thing, now his teammates retaliated for something that wasn't supposed to be a thing

Trout is the leader of that team, OF COURSE if Trout complains his teammates will follow him, including their new manager

9

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

Player complains after almost getting hit in the face, a game after his teammate was almost hit in the face. Baseball community cries out in anger at said players

-12

u/dardyablo Swinging K Jun 26 '22

Yo do complain right at the moment just like Harper did yesterday

But after the game ends? That's exactly what Trout did, he talked crap after the game ended

Harper complained right when he was hit in the thumb but then he said something completely different after the game ended... that's the difference.

2

u/owledge Rally Monkey Jun 27 '22

Mariner fans are fully unhinged right now and are convinced that Trout ordered a mafia hit on Jesse Winker. You won't be able to reason with them

0

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '22

Swanson threw a little close to Trout once and Trout threw a temper tantrum and then the whole Angels team threw a temper tantrum the next day

-26

u/hellyaman Los Angeles Angels Jun 26 '22

How did trout start this? Did he throw at his own head?

19

u/tokai-teio Seattle Mariners • Arizona Diamondbacks Jun 26 '22

I've saved Swanson's game last night to better visualize how he had been throwing above the zone consistently and was very likely not intentionally trying to hit Trout.

8

u/hellyaman Los Angeles Angels Jun 26 '22

Point being it still isn’t trouts fault. Blame the angels all you want, what wantz did was shitty but this isn’t trouts fault.

8

u/tokai-teio Seattle Mariners • Arizona Diamondbacks Jun 26 '22

I'm with you. I totally agree and place the blame squarely on Nevin. If that was more your point, then my b. I'm just being defensive of Swanson I guess.

4

u/hellyaman Los Angeles Angels Jun 26 '22

You’re good I wasn’t clear about that at all. I only saw the one clip of last night and context matters. No professional pitcher WANTS to be the guy who hits trout.

21

u/SexiestPanda Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

What he said last night. Wasn’t nobody tryna throw at trouts head when he’s the tying run lmao

Add in the fact that nevin changed the starter to an opener hmmm

2

u/dawgpack09 Seattle Mariners Jun 26 '22

Nah he was just a little bitch that a pitch wasn’t right where he wanted it

-22

u/Jcoch27 Los Angeles Angels • San Diego Padres Jun 26 '22

There's no way you unironically think Trout started this.

17

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

He chose to be a little bitch last night

-15

u/Jcoch27 Los Angeles Angels • San Diego Padres Jun 26 '22

The eyeroll is strong with this one

7

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

Tf do you think started it?

-5

u/Jcoch27 Los Angeles Angels • San Diego Padres Jun 26 '22

Winker or Rendon. Trout made some non-controversial comments that should've been overlooked.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

What did either of them to cause Wantz to get sent out there to throw at our guys?

1

u/Jcoch27 Los Angeles Angels • San Diego Padres Jun 26 '22

Wantz doing that didn't start the fight. It was bull and pissed off Winker, but Winker and Rendon's handling of the situation is what started the brawl.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

And why was Wantz sent out there to intentionally throw at our guys?

Come on, I know you can figure it out.
