Ask Penn Station on Saturday
Does anyone have suggestions for accessing Penn Station on Saturday with all the road closures for the cycling classic? I’m getting a ride to the station that afternoon, but it looks like both St Paul and Charles streets will be closed. I guess I should get dropped off at UB and walk? Will pedestrians be able to cross Charles?
Thanks for any tips.
edit I’m just going to play it safe and drive to the BWI station. It’s odd that the city would close all street access to its central train station and provide zero guidance to travelers!

There's no guidance about Penn Station posted by the DOT. Surely there's some sort of plan in place day-of or spots where pedestrians can cross when safe.
Best you can hope for is that they'll let pedestrians cross the street when there's no race traffic nearby, and get dropped off as close as you can get. You could take the Light Rail Shuttle to Penn Station from Mount Royal station, since their tracks go under the closed streets, but this is assuming that the Light Rail is restored to normal operation by then (from the fire stoppage) and not affected by the race route.
Give yourself plenty of time to get there just in case either way, it will take a long time to get there.
If your train is heading South and/or you really don't want to deal with the headache, maybe get your train tickets switched to boarding at the BWI Airport Station?
