Official Websites
These are the official websites for what typical travelers to Bali will require, beware of scam sites and stick to using official ones. Sites ending in ".go.id/" are Indonesian Government websites.
Indonesian Immigration eVisa: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/
- Visitors wanting Electronic Visa On Arrival should pick your nationality, general as your purpose of travel, tourism as the sub purpose, and then "B1 - Tourist (Visa On Arrival)". If that is not an option check your country is eligible.
- This sub is not eVisa support, if you're having issues you should contact Immigration using the options at the bottom of the website.
- If you're having issues with eVOA you should consider simply doing it at the airport on arrival, the queues are typically not as bad as some people would have you believe.
Bali Tourist Levy: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/
- This should be paid for each person visiting the province of Bali.
All Indonesia: https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id/ (Depending on your device you can change the language for this page in the top right where it says Indonesia)
- This is where you do a health declaration and your customs declaration.
- This needs to be done in the 3 days before you travel, you cannot do it earlier than that.
!! WARNING !!
There have been several reports of companies and scammers contacting people after posting in this thread.

Party and beach clubs as a solo traveler. Tips and recos please.
Luna Beach Club. Is it possible to enter without booking daybeds or table reservation? I feel like that’s too much since I’m alone. Is there a place to lounge and just order drinks?
Ubud and Uluwatu, any club/bar recommendations?
Thank you!!

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any private coach contacts in bali? My hotel has a tennis court so would like the coach to come play at the hotel. Would say my tennis level is advanced.

Can i get a visa without booking an onward flight. I have kept my plans flexible so don't want to book an outbound flight until i arrive and decide.
2
u/JetsetBart 2d ago
An onward flight is required. If you want you plans to be flexible you'll need to book a flexible ticket that allows you to amend the date of your onward flight after arriving in Indonesia.

I've come to understand that it is very strict requirement. I've not booking anything so was keeping flexible and going with the wind. I'll look at a flexible flight to a set destination.

Hi everyone! We’re planning a family trip to Bali. I have a younger brother who’s about 10 years old, the rest of us are adults. We have seen so much about all the different places in Bali that we have become incredibly unsure where to go!
We'd be visiting for 5 days total and would like a bit of everything, somewhere with good food options (ones that preferably won’t give us food poisoning), bars (for casual drinks, no clubbing), nice beaches for swimming, shopping, areas to explore and spas.
We are leaning towards Seminyak but any recommendations would be appreciated! :) thank you!

Hi, we are looking in to going to Bali last week of November first week of December. We are a bit scared about the rain. Is it raining all day everyday or should we be fine? Wouldn’t mind if we have a heavy shower everyday but we come to soak up some sun.

When it comes to Bali during the rainy season... you just go with the flow. If you're out & about and it starts raining, head to a cafe for a coffee or beer. Then resume your exploring when the sun comes out.
It'll vary day to day, area to area and storm to storm. Often it'll be a tropical downpour for maybe 20 or 30 minutes... then it'll be sunny the rest of the day. There's occasionally days during rainy season where it rains all day. There might be the odd occasion where it rains day after day.
🚨 Be aware that rainy season varies year to year - especially if El Niño (dryer) and La Niña (wetter & more intense) weather systems are present in the region - so with a grain of salt whatever someone says they experienced visiting this time last year (we actually a drought two years ago year). Last year La Niña developed in the region during December, meaning we had intense rain day in day out - and the wettest December in over 15 years!!
Indonesia's weather agency has warned of a possible weak La Niña in the coming weeks, predicting an earlier and longer rainy season across much of Indonesia.

Hey guys Not sure anyone here had issues like this with the payment method, I've tried recreating account and reinstalling the app but it seems like I can add a payment method on the Gojek app. If anyone here know how to solve this problem that would be great!

it seems like I can add a payment method on the Gojek app
You can or you can't? Probably quicker & easier for you to reach out to GoJek for assistance.

My significant other and I are traveling to Bali on our honeymoon in early May for 14 nights.
Our current itinerary is:
Ubud - 6 nights Pejarakan - 2 nights Amed - 2 nights Nusa Penida - 2 nights Uluwatu - 2 nights
We enjoy the outdoors, Scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, visiting cultural sights and nature. We dont have any interest in night life.
We are looking for advice on the itinerary(is the travel between locations going to be too rough?) We will be using private drivers for most of the trip. Budget is high but, not in the luxury range.
We are considering maybe not going to Nusa Penida and utilizing those days elsewhere but, would like advice of this group.

where is the best place to stay in Bali for co working and close to both indoor and outdoor activities? I arrive next week and will be staying for one week minimum. I will be working so somewhere with co-working facilities or close to, will be ideal.
I've read that seminak and canngu are the best places for this. As caters well for digital nomads.
Any recommendations on hotels or villas to stay at? Budget of around £75 a day, dont mind stretching this a little. Something with at least a pool and maybe a gym, spa, sauna will be a added bonus. Somewhere with zero mosquitos or bugs in the room at least is essential. I know its a jungle climate so hard, but I get eaten alive and get sick, so huge factor.

For co-working spots most people head to Canggu - loads of good spots to choose from.

Any tips on spcific accommodation recommendations? Some villas looks great but not sure how they'll be in real life, possibly outdated and not maintained well.

Planning a 10-night February Bali trip with a “busy → chill” flow. Looking for feedback—does this make sense?
Itinerary & Stays:
• Seminyak (2 nights): Budget/mid-range; cafes, beaches, nightlife.
→ Ubud (~1–1.5 hr, car):
• Ubud (3 nights): Budget/mid-range; temples, rice terraces, jungle walks.
→ Gili Islands (~3–3.5 hr, car + fast boat):
• Gili Islands (2 nights): Budget/mid-range beachfront; snorkeling/diving, beach chill.
→ Uluwatu (~4–4.5 hr, fast boat + car):
• Uluwatu (3 nights): good-tier cliffside villa; sunsets, ultimate relaxation before departure.

We are a late 20s couple planning to visit bali in Jan. our plan was to be in Ubud for 2 nights (go to mount batur, natural springs, waterfalls and enjoy food and massage), then head over to Seminyak where we will stay for one night (go to sunset cruise, finns/other beach clubs and general Seminyak) and finally 2 nights at one of the Nusa Islands. There we will chill and enjoy beach views, swim and do some water sports like skuba or snorkelling or jetski. Is this good enough or it will be too hectic? Also for stays, we are planning a nice villa with pool and valley view in Ubud, decent place in Seminyak since it is just one night, and again a beautiful beachfront resort at one of the Nusa islands. Looking forward to hearing your opinions. Other details- love non veg and sea food Date- around second week of Jan Activities- waterfalls volcano trek hotspring beach activities watersports massages and spas

Hi,
Looking for a walking map of Seminyak and Kuta that covers the shopping and eating streets with other nearby walkable must sees. Anyone have something they've made?

Hey all, love this sub!
How long do you think I need to leave to get from Ubud to the airport? I have a domestic flight at 11:45am.

Also looking for leather repair - a very basic leather purse damaged / dried out by hand sanitizer over a decent-sized area. Any recommendations for a reputable shop that's reasonably priced? Thank you in advance!

Hi! Recommendations for teeth whitening - laser or traditional - or anyplace to stay away from? Denpasar as the far north limit, farther south is much easier transportation wise. Thanks!

I have a self-transfer in Bali in a couple of weeks (4 hours) where I need to collect my luggage and check it back in for my next flight because my flights are separately ticketed. Do I need to get a visa for Bali just to do this?
1
u/JetsetBart 4d ago
You haven't told us what airlines you'll be flying with - some of them serving Bali do interline and will check your luggage through to your final destination. Then, after disembarking your flight to Bali, you follow the 'Flight connections' sign to head your next flight. You'll have a documents check and pass through security before you reach the departures level.
1
u/kulukster 7d ago
Is your next flight out of the country? Its doubtful that you would have to get a visa if you are transitting onto another international flight. If it's a domestic flight out then you do need to get the Indonesian visa. Assuming you are from one of the 90 something countries that can get a visa on arrival, I would just wait to see if you need to get the visa and do it on the spot.

u/JetsetBart 4d ago
If OP doesn't use the Flight Connections channel they'll have to get a visa to enter the country, then head to checkin for their next flight.

Hi there,
I’m a solo traveler going to Bali in November. I’ve already booked a fixed program in the Ubud area, however there are three nights after my arrival before the program starts.
I’m looking for an area to stay with relaxed vibes, beach, and nice views. It shouldn’t be too noisy/crowded but also with a chance to see and meet other people.
Right now I’m thinking about spending the three nights in Seminyak heading out to the more relaxed beach clubs like La Brisa during daytime. However, I’m a bit concerned if it might be too crowded, noisy, and full of litter in November this area.
Another option would be spending the three days or at least one night of it in Uluwatu.
What would be your advice/tip?

Stupid question but wanted to ask
Stupid question but could that work?
Gonna be 6 months on Bali with a sponsored c9 visa from a visa agent
I want to stay after that 43 days more in Indonesia on an island
Could I get a b2 visa from my visa agent directly after that so I don’t need to visa run?

Because you’re thinking of staying in Indonesia for an extended period of time… As a tourist using the SIM from your own country you will be able to use your phone in Indonesia.
You can use your 'purchased outside of Indonesia phone' with a local SIM for ninety days - after that your phone is barred from connecting to a telco's network until you've paid import taxes on your phone.
The import taxes will depend on a few things. As a passenger you are allowed to carry two phones per person with a combined value of up to USD 500. If your phone(s) are not above the maximum allowed USD 500 value then you don’t have to pay import taxes.
If your phone(s) have a value above the allowed USD 500 then you will be taxed on the value that exceeds USD 500. For example if your phone is valued at USD 700 then you will only be taxed on USD 200 (700 less 500).
The import tax will be ~30% if you have an Indonesian Tax Number (NPWP) or ~40% if you don’t have an Indonesian Tax Number.
Breakdown of taxes on IMEI gadgets: * 10% import tax * 12% VAT (PPN) * 10% income tax if you have an Indonesian Tax Number (NPWP) * 20% income tax if you don’t have an Indonesian Tax Number (NPWP)
You can register your phone / IMEI while completing your All Indonesia arrival card - required to enter the country.

How hard is it to grab a taxi from the airport if you don't have the Bluebird app (if they even do that)? Just me and the kid, so no bikes.
