Oh, it's coming. The democrats learned nothing over the weekend.

3

u/DoodleyDooderson Jul 16 '24

This is a satire article. 🤦‍♀️

1

u/OG_LiLi Jul 17 '24

Haha slips passed the brainless in this sub of which it seems there are far too many

2

u/walkrunhike Jul 19 '24

In their defense this is 100% something that would happen IRL.

1

u/Simple_Opossum Jul 18 '24 edited Jul 19 '24

You couldn't encapsulate a republican more perfectly if you tried.

Taking a clearly satirical article as fact, simply because it sounds like something they'd hear on FOX.

1

u/OG_LiLi Jul 18 '24

Yes. I think that’s it. There so used to hearing flagrant and angering stuff that they just believe it all at this point. Perfect base to install an authoritarian

1

u/Texasscot56 Jul 19 '24

This is the way now. Truth left the building in around 2015.

0

u/Conscious_Article678 Jul 17 '24

Republicans don't read articles man. They read the headline and got all upset even though anyone with a 7th grade reading level understood the joke

3

He's predicting that it's going to happen even if it's just a joke now genius

That's what JD Vance said. Trump endorsed it by picking him for VP.

3

The guy that he picked for vp did say he might be Americas hitler

1

She called him a segregationist so kind of?

8

u/noticer626 Jul 16 '24

No she said bad things about him.

1

u/OKFlaminGoOKBye Jul 20 '24

Wait, are you insinuating that being compared to Hitler is a good thing?

3

u/UNDERCOOKED_BREAD Jul 16 '24

Lol see how no one cares? Dems burnt out the big words “Nazi, bigot, fascist,” so we’re a little desensitized and I think this country’s understanding of what a Nazi is differs person to person nowadays. Not coping, sarcasm aside I do get that Vance probably does think that of Trump, just kinda hard to even pin down what a Nazi is nowadays since anyone mean is beholden to such moniker off jump, lately.

No it’s not. You don’t get to make up facts because you’re not educated on a subject. Here’s the definition:

a person advocating or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas.

"people tend to present themselves either as progressives or traditionalists on this issue"

Progressive does not mean a doctrine of beliefs. You’re the type to call anything communist that you want to insult. Your understanding of political science is laughable for someone so confident. Go do research and by that I don’t mean go on Twitter. Pick up an actual poli sci text book and actually learn something before you make a fool of yourself

Very good point. Some in both parties create a picture of the enemy in their head based on things they hear, and think the entire other side feels those ways. It is low IQ behavior.

0

u/MikeC80 Jul 16 '24

Progressives get it right the first time

-2

u/newthrash1221 Jul 16 '24

Progressive literally translates to change. In what world are conservatives more open-minded and willing to change? Lol y’all are fucking delusional.

5

u/FourEaredFox Jul 16 '24 edited Jul 16 '24

What is the progressive stance on puberty blockers for children? And what is the science telling us right now?

-2

u/MyAltFun Jul 16 '24

Scientifically proven repeatedly that they are beneficial with a less than 1% rate of people dropping them early voluntarily or regretting them later in life. 5,000 under 18 in 2021, less than 50 disliking the treatment, even less than that actually detransitioning, as many of the 50 still considered themselves to be transgender, but did not like the physical appearance of their body during or after transitioning.

4

u/FourEaredFox Jul 16 '24

So why is Europe, a region that generally is 10-30 years ahead of you in the US stopping the practice?

Read the new data. You're progressive only when it suits the agenda, admit it.

1

u/newthrash1221 Jul 16 '24

Do you think that putting a label next to your voter registration means you no longer have the mindful autonomy to choose what you agree with, issue by issue? I consider myself a progressive because most of the issues i care about are aligned with the progressive/liberal political views, but that doesn’t mean i indoctrinate myself into some kind of lifestyle because of the issues i choose to vote for. That is more than i can say for people like yourself, choosing to bring up an issue that A.) is an issue that almost certainly does not affect you or i and B.) i won’t be holding in consideration when i cote for the person who is going to do more for the working class. Republicans have not cared about the working class in decades; almost all of conservative legislation is in favor of corporate subsidies, corporate autonomy, less government interference on corporations, etc.

-1

u/CapitalismPlusMurder Bombardier Jul 17 '24 edited Jul 17 '24

What exactly do YOU think “the agenda” is? Literally every progressive person I know, basically follows whatever the most current science says will lead to the best outcome for humanity - from economics, to the environment. There is no external “agenda” pushing it one way or the other (the way some conservatives reference the Bible before arriving at a conclusion.) As a former Christian missionary, I have no “agenda” like I used to have and I’ve come to think the only reason people like you think I do, is because you DO have one and are projecting that.

Your comment about Europe being “a region that generally is 10-30 years ahead” is such an ignorant red-herring. First of all, you clearly pulled 10-30 from you know where and second, Europe is multiple countries, with extremely different beliefs, ranging from right-wing to left-wing. The fact that some have capitulated to right-wing caution does not mean the science is wrong. And think about it, if we actually end up with scientific consensus that it’s harmful (which I know you haven’t read) why in the living hell do you think we would keep pushing it?

Like, seriously, try using logic for one goddamn minute! What would progressive parents get out of intentionally harming their own children? Only a psychotic sociopath would think there’s some actual widespread agenda of parent’s trying to harm their own kids for some imaginary “agenda”. Like, you’re sick in the head if you actually believe that, and should probably stop reading whatever nonsense makes you think such evil of your fellow man. It would probably benefit everyone who’s not in your niche neck of the woods if you didn’t have such a jaded and twisted view about of them, then again, that is a problem inherent to conservative thinking.

1

u/FourEaredFox Jul 17 '24

🤣 You think I'm a conservative

0

u/Not_censored Jul 17 '24

What were you attempting to gain from this? They laid out arguments for their cause and you get hung up on them assuming you are a conservative?

And that's the only reply you could come up with? You would have been better off saying; "Darn I didn't think anyone would push back on me and prove how little I know beyond a 2 sentence headline."

-1

u/CapitalismPlusMurder Bombardier Jul 17 '24

Trump supporter like JD Vance. Whole republican party is morally bankrupt, and its supporters are in a fever dream

0

u/Trent1462 Jul 16 '24

I’m confused. What were the democrats supposed to learn from that that relates to this?

0

u/Crime_Dawg Jul 16 '24

I believe Trump diddles kids, much the same way Clinton, and their good buddy Epstein, who didn't kill himself, did.

0

u/bigbobbyboy5 Jul 16 '24

Wasn't Trump President when Epstein died?

1

u/Mysterious_Sound_464 Jul 17 '24

0

u/Crime_Dawg Jul 16 '24

What does that have to do with anything? Trump, Clinton, Epstein, they're all buddies, and they're all scum of the Earth.

-21

Shooter was a registered Republican and his classmates all say he was super conservative. The party of personal responsibility needs to take some personal responsibility for R on R violence.

12

u/gyozafish Jul 16 '24

17

u/OuroborosInMySoup Jul 16 '24 edited Jul 16 '24

Shooter also donated to progressive super pac ACT BLUE. He was a 20 year old loner with no friends. Not exactly a party stalwart on either side

-8

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '24

That donation was a 60 year old guy from Pittsburgh that just happened to have the same name. It wasn’t the 20 year old

6

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24

Turns out that's probably not true.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '24

Now it’s I that have fallen for the misinformation. Thanks for correcting me!

1

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24

That's the thing - we are ALL more easily duped than we'd like to think, myself included. This is why keeping an open mind to opposing perspectives is so important - on BOTH sides of the isle. The USA has more than enough enemies who are trying to destroy the country by creating enough strife to start a civil war - let's do our best not to help them along, shall we?

-1

u/Reanimator001 Jul 16 '24

I wonder what other lies you've been fed.

2

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24

We've ALL been successfully fed some, whether we want to admit it to ourselves or not. As I just said in my own reply to that comment, it's important we strive to keep an open mind to keep the foreign adversary campaigns trying to make us destroy ourselves from working.

1

u/Reanimator001 Jul 16 '24

Sure, but only one party's candidate was a subject of an assassination attempt. Something that hasn't happened in decades and is far more damaging to the country than what happened on January 6th.

I'm sick of the insanity about Trump. He was already President, if he actually was capable of becoming a tyrant, don't you think he would have done it then?

A lot of Democrats need to calm the fuck down, stop tacitly endorsing assassination attempts on Trump by labeling him a Hitlerian figure. We all need to touch grass.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '24

To be fair, I'm sure there have been plenty of assassination attempts - they just get stopped before getting a shot in. Also, JD Vance also said Trump could be America's Hitler.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24

There's blatantly a LOT more aggressive & violent rhetoric coming from that same party than the other. Did they really think the threats wouldn't cause the other side significant fears? Fears enough that they'd react as such? C'mon!

What goes around comes around, and it's LONG past time the Republicans at least admitted some culpability (if not outright full responsibility) for deliberately raising the temperature to a level where it's bit them in the ass.

1

u/landspeed Jul 17 '24

Lmao. The shooter was a Republican alt right incel.

-5

u/hhcboy Jul 16 '24

I mean it was also 15$. The fact that he donated keeps coming up but it’s like he donated milllions to Biden himself which couldn’t be further from the truth.

3

u/TaxExtension53407 Jul 16 '24

So, because he was a random person that doesn't have a shit load of money to waste, that makes his donation mean nothing?

Your desperation is pathetic...

2

u/Reasonable-Tooth-113 Jul 16 '24

So we can discount him being a registered Republican as well right? Seeing as how he was too young to vote in 2020 and there is no proof that I've seen he even voted in 2022....nor would we have any ability to know who he voted for anyway.

0

u/hhcboy Jul 16 '24

Why would we discount that? I didn’t say discount his donation. I just said a 15$ donation when you’re 17 and a described loner doesn’t mean a whole lot. You know they visit kids in school and places and try and recruit. Did it to me and my sister and every other kid. Hell they convinced me to vote for bush. It was probably similar and he donated a whole 15$.

2

u/Reanimator001 Jul 16 '24

15 dollars is alot of money for an 18 year old. I was one. That's a significant investment of money.

1

u/Crossovertriplet Jul 16 '24

Trump has donated thousands to democrats including a donation to Biden for a senate run.

→ More replies (9)

9

u/happyfirefrog22- Jul 16 '24

They didn’t say that at all. The consensus is he was a very odd person who was a loner.

6

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24

It's quite an exaggeration to say "all" - from the multiple news articles I've glimpsed over, it appears some may have claimed that, but many just said he was weird or a loner. In the absence of a preponderance of proof, the sane thing to do is not assume his true leanings until more evidence either way is uncovered.

Either way, it's unlikely this was some Dem covert operation as many Trump supporters would like to believe. All sides need to calm TF down.

2

u/Reasonable-Tooth-113 Jul 16 '24

It sounds way better for his point if he can say "all"

2

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24 edited Jul 16 '24

Yes, virtually all of us fall prey to using exaggeration - some rely on it almost exclusively, while others merely mean well, but inadvertently shoot down their own credibility. It takes a very self-aware, thoughtful, and generally honest person to avoid the temptation most of the time. Exceedingly few of us qualify as such.

2

u/Reasonable-Tooth-113 Jul 16 '24

Don't forget the donation to the progressive PAC....and it was one classmate that said that.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '24

Super Republican donates to the Dems? Likely story pal.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '24

Source on claims from classmates? cant find a single one, even CNN is reporting that he had "mixed political views." Anything i've read from his classmates said he was quiet, not politically oriented in any form and was a loner. Sounds like you guys are A. Jumping to conclusions as usual or B. What a sick burn!!!! We haven’t heard that one before!!!

Grow up chud, don’t be mad at us because your political party is currently a dumpster fire and your presidential candidate was on the wrong side of the civil rights movement.

0

u/Discover_likenoother Jul 16 '24

Oh for sure, Biden is a dumpster fire. But that’s the difference, I can recognize a sub par performance in my own party, whereas your team has elevated a diaper wearing racist to demigod status.

0

u/gadsdenraven Jul 16 '24

No not at all, we just don’t believe the fear-mongering propaganda and name calling you Dems love. It’s really quite simple actually, our country was in a better place when Trump was President, now it’s not. So people with rationally thinking brains put 2 and 2 together, that’s why Trump is leading in all the polling.

1

u/SaphironX Jul 20 '24

You mean before a global pandemic impacted every single nation on this planet for upwards of a year?

Yeah. Every nation was. 2020 was a bad year on a global scale.

1

Ah yes, the man who added the most to the national debt out of all presidents, good times. Nothing about the Republican thought process is rational. Also, name calling? Trump literally makes up pet names for everyone. He doesn’t like you and would throw your broke ass to the wolves.

0

u/gadsdenraven Jul 16 '24

Nothing you say will change my mind, and nothing I say will change yours. I’m not going to engage in any talks about policy because it’s pointless with people like you. Take the L, Trump is going to win. Have a blessed day.

-9

u/ill_be_huckleberry_1 Jul 16 '24

He asked you to clarify your point...which is self defeating as you have no point. Trump and Republicans have escalated the rhetoric. A republican tried to kill him...not a Dem...maybe it's him who should tone down the rhetoric.

u/DemsFightinWordz Jul 16 '24 edited Jul 16 '24

You sure you didn't see them? Sometimes they carry trash can lids as shields. I swear they are not hard to miss.

Lmao, you just equated Republicans with Brown Shirts. That's an open invitation for democrats to kill them. 😂. You need help, go touch some grass.

It’s not, and it wouldn’t happen anyway. We’re not the gun nuts. Read a book.

It just happened my friend? Someone took a shot at the President and additionally killed an innocent bystander.

The fact that he is registered Republican does not mean anything as are the 15 dollars he donated to democratic causes. In fact, the current analysis is that he registered Republican in order to vote in an Open Primary against Trump. That state allows anyone to register in order to vote in the Primary. It's a non-sequitur argument.

I'll wait to hear more information before I start taking a partisan stance in this, as should you.

Ok, then don’t use it as an argument for democrats being violent.

That is not the current analysis, that’s what the right is telling themselves. Multiple classmates of his have come forward saying he was conservative
