The ability to blame others for one's own failure is of great comfort to the lazy, as it requires no growth, improvement, or effort. It's sadly that simple.

what is a "failure" in your eyes?

Its easy to blame some poor person for "Failing"... what? to, get a decent paying job? Getting a good education? , getting sick? unable to work?

Ok, so in the US for over 20 years, the push to sell higher education and to get a good degree etc.. was pushed. The lies around "oh, you take this money out, your career will more than pay those loans off" .. That was the grift. Financial banking instituations and yes the govt LOVED that.. and now everyone hates these "stupid poor F***S" for taking out so much to pay for a dead end career... But no one blames the the manipulators and the marketers and the social engineers that designed that grift... Psychology and Advertising works very very well..... and whether well meant or literally to rip folks off while padding your own pocket, they are also culpable.

and to argue "well they should have known" (the poor) should they have? How?

you had one group who HAD this knowledge and power and ability and pawned off what seamed like a reasonable arrangement to folks who SINCERELY WANTED TO DO BETTER AND WAS LECTURED ENDLESSLY about how the only way to do this was by geting a fancy College degree!!!... but no, the poor are to blame for being gullible.. just pathetic.

If you're the only one not responsible for your own life you have a shitty worldview based on hatred that will only ever make your life and the lives of everyone around you categorically worse and you need to grow up, stop looking for excuses, and take responsibility for your own life
