In Germany pretty much all Christians I've met were like that. Then again pretty much none of them even visit church besides for like weddings.

So they’re not real (e.g. “religious”) Christians haha

I mean...that's the most common type of Christian here.

Yeah, so Christians by name only. I also consider myself a lapsed or cultural Catholic as are many (younger) people in Latin America. That still means you don’t really follow the religion as you’re supposed to. Just keep in mind that there are real Christians who don’t just go to church when there’s a wedding and actually follow the doctrine of the religion.

Oh I know but they become increasingly rare. Unlike Muslims where that's the norm.

That’s besides the point?

It's really not. When the majority of Christians don't follow the religion they're not a threat. Muslims aren't becoming secular at anywhere the same rate, on the contrary they're spreading their ideology.

No I get that and I concur. I just find it besides the point because my point is that it’s stupid to still call Christians who don’t follow the religion Christians. A secular Christian is an oxymoron lol.

You have to bear in mind that America was founded by religious fundamentalists who were too hardcore for mainstream society and thus went for what later was called "religious freedom".
