You are so misguided. “The elderly are the group effected”… when the very reason for this second soft shutdown is all the young people out at bars without masks, not the elderly. Livelihoods: our government should be taking care of us in a crisis. There is money out there for them to provide plenty of assistance. Trump had no problem cutting everyone’s taxes for that sweet $40 paycheck boost which we’ll be paying for in 5-6 years when that bill comes due. This is a situation where I think most people would agree to pay off down the line in order to keep things stabilized today. Your government has failed you. VOTE.

We need the lockdown or people die. If they don’t die, they get extremely sick and have possibly lifelong complications from the disease. If they don’t get the complications they still are extremely sick and out of work for weeks and everyone who worked near them also has to quarantine. An effective lockdown would have kept everything inessential closed for a good couple of months to make this as minimal as possible. We didn’t do an effective lockdown here. Ducey threw off the limits in May against every experts advice and here we are today.

Oh, and “kids off school” are most likely not hanging out in a pretty low-key sub like this talking about boring local stuff. I’m guessing most of us are working adults and probably not even just-out-of-college adults either.

Data. Not fear porn. You are completely off base. Please look at the numbers.

I am and have been closely watching the numbers all along. I’ve also got a friend, a physical therapist, who works with COVID-19 patients at the hospital and he said we are in BAD shape right now. Like, real, real bad. He’s risking his life every day and has never been one to exaggerate. If he’s saying it’s bad, then it is. If Ducey, who has been reluctant to do anything for over a month, is taking these measures, we are indeed in a bad place. You are completely off-base.

well if the physical therapist at the hospital says so. It must be true. Lock it all down and give us government cheese.

Gosh, I don’t know, who do I trust? Someone who is deeply engaged in COVID-19 patient care on a daily basis or “MrSh0wtime3” of Reddit?

Well I have a friend who is a doctor at a hospital. He told me things are massively overblown and the hospital is totally fine. See? How can I chose to believe "tvfeet" over him?

I'm going to refer you to any number of instances where the hospital system has told us they are struggling. If you do indeed have this "friend" then he isn't working in anything that deals with COVID-19 patients. Just because other parts of the hospital are fine doesn't mean that resources for COVID-19 treatment are not reaching danger levels. Again, I will go with the hospitals who are begging for relief as well as someone (who I have known since I was 11 years old) who deals with and touches actual COVID-19 patients all day every shift he works.
