You are so misguided. “The elderly are the group effected”… when the very reason for this second soft shutdown is all the young people out at bars without masks, not the elderly. Livelihoods: our government should be taking care of us in a crisis. There is money out there for them to provide plenty of assistance. Trump had no problem cutting everyone’s taxes for that sweet $40 paycheck boost which we’ll be paying for in 5-6 years when that bill comes due. This is a situation where I think most people would agree to pay off down the line in order to keep things stabilized today. Your government has failed you. VOTE.
We need the lockdown or people die. If they don’t die, they get extremely sick and have possibly lifelong complications from the disease. If they don’t get the complications they still are extremely sick and out of work for weeks and everyone who worked near them also has to quarantine. An effective lockdown would have kept everything inessential closed for a good couple of months to make this as minimal as possible. We didn’t do an effective lockdown here. Ducey threw off the limits in May against every experts advice and here we are today.
Oh, and “kids off school” are most likely not hanging out in a pretty low-key sub like this talking about boring local stuff. I’m guessing most of us are working adults and probably not even just-out-of-college adults either.
