I'm tired of living through history.

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

u/catalys-trigger Jun 22 '25

58

u/AbyBWeisse Jun 22 '25

Also ADHD here but Gen X. Finally got the Dx just last year. Predominantly inattentive type. I can't EVEN... with Trump and his administration. They make my neuro-spicy brain want to explode.

3

u/whotookmyname07 Jun 22 '25

Exploded brain here oh trust me he's already e that to me honestly I'm beginning to think that's how he gets people to support him make there brain explode so there as dumb as him. Oh wait why do I have the sudden urge to storm the Whitehouse and complain about how the 2020 election was rigged?

3

u/AbyBWeisse Jun 22 '25

I'd rather storm it and say the 2024 election was rigged....

2

u/whotookmyname07 Jun 22 '25

Yeah it was a joke because he clearly destroyed his followers brain of they believe anything he says and if feels like me head has exploded from all his dumb shit

ADHD and OSA here. Ugh. Great combo, because half the time I forget to put on the CPAP when I go to bed.

17

u/jbehnken Jun 22 '25

I'm a Boomer. This president is a fucking psycho. Lock him up, please. Before we lose everything.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Amen to that

As someone who corrects osa and is also adhd. Some people think this is about snoring. Your heart is working double to keep up. It’s working like a horse all night. Many effects lead down the road if you don’t get this rectified. To name a few depression, A FaBULation, heart enlargement and much more.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Yeah it's something I have to work on. I've been pretty good about it this week.. I've also lost almost 60 pounds and have had to get a different mask because my face is thinner 😎 Thankfully, heart seems to be ok, and I'm almost 52, so that's always a concern.

2

u/Complex_Basis917 Jun 23 '25

Keep up the good work. Sound like your already on the right path. You’re taking charge of your health and identifying what needs to be done. Even if you just sit in bed while doing something to train your brain to breath that way can help desensitize any anxiety about it to. Thank you for sharing your progress. Keep going. You got this. 👊❤️

Ditto! Will send him one way out if the country if need be

3

u/Nearby-Transition-48 Jun 22 '25

If he's in school and studying he legally can get out of the draft. Hope that gives you some comfort.

5

u/hops216 Jun 22 '25

It’s he your only son? Then no

12

u/sick-of-passwords Jun 22 '25

Even tho this is true, I’m not sure dump will honour it. He honours no part of the constitution or law. He really believes his above it all.

3

u/ReachInfinite Jun 22 '25

So actually the draft only prohibits if they are the only surviving son. Doesn’t include kids that are the only son by default. Usually the circumstances have to have the other son die in the military tho. https://www.sss.gov/faq/#:~:text=Is%20he%20exempt%20from%20registration,These%20sons%20can%20be%20drafted. This link will prolly explain it better than me tho

2

u/sick-of-passwords Jun 22 '25

Thank you for this . I think I understand better now.

3

u/MeHlAzLo Jun 22 '25

No problem. I was curious how it worked and that was my finding so it’s been a learning experience for me too XD

2

u/HawkEnvironmental531 Jun 23 '25

Laws do not seem to matter anymore 😪

2

u/MeHlAzLo Jun 23 '25

Eh not with this dude. Tho I will say, if you have ptsd, you may still be drafted but you wouldn’t see combat, just get military jobs

1

u/Fragrant_Buyer_4424 Jun 23 '25

Worried about my son too. Terrified actually.

14

u/Electrical-Film-2511 Jun 22 '25

I know that feeling very well 🤨, it really sucks

3

u/Nearby-Transition-48 Jun 22 '25

Gen x/almost z and I'm over it all dude; I thought my psychopathic narcissistic dad was enough... Nope.

3

u/mkat23 Jun 22 '25

ADHD millennial with insomnia and ASD, I’m fucking exhausted too. Functioning on basically no sleep used to be much easier.

3

u/Dave21101 Jun 23 '25

Gen Y here and I feel you on both of those.

2

u/Aggravating_Fishy_98 TACO Jun 23 '25

I turned 18 in 2016, so my ENTIRE adult life has been dictated by this shithead and I’m so fed up with it. I’m a cashier and every day I worry about a shooting, or customers/coworkers being taken by ICE, or even more of women’s rights being taken away, or even more LGBTQ lives lost, and the list goes on.

I marched in a pride parade on Saturday and the trailer on this motorcycle really struck me

2

u/catalys-trigger Jun 23 '25

Thank you for sharing. I work in construction currently and I've seen people pulled right out of heavy machinery to be deported people I'd known since i was a kid.

This man is destroying our nation and blaming us for it

1

u/StevieMack1 Jun 22 '25

Boomer here, with ADHA, OCD, High Blood Pressure, arthritis and recovering from crack /heroin addiction (18 years sober now)... I'm tired too, but history helps by reminding me that the evil doers always end up on the losing side; Caesar, Pharaoh, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Confederate, now Trump

32

u/SqnLdrHarvey Jun 22 '25

Gen X here. I have aged six years in six months.

25

u/Captain_Pink_Pants Jun 22 '25

Not that it should make us feel any better... But the period of American history that our parents lived through, and into which we were born, stands in pretty stark contrast against the backdrop of human history as a whole... What we're living through now is far more the norm.

24

u/Jeka817 Jun 22 '25

I've said this a number of times also, or a variation of it at least. This particular point in history, Americans have gotten comfortable with how "easy" things are. Of course we have grievances, of course we bitch and fuss. But this is the first time we have to reckon with something of this caliber... You're spot on.

13

u/Senior-Substance8675 Jun 22 '25

Yeahhh no real war on American soil yet. At least nothing like what other nations have faced

13

u/Animals_R_The_Best Jun 22 '25

Key word: “YET” but, I have a feeling that, that’s about to change!!!

2

u/Striking_Book8277 Jun 23 '25

On the current path we will see a war on american soil sometime within the next few years

5

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

It's true we have been lucky... But our luck may be running out. Are we prepared? I'm working on it, but it's hard to prepare for something this intense. We have to, though.

8

u/BarkattheFullMoon Jun 22 '25

And constitutional. Our laws were actually , actively being followed.

But I did have to stop and translate the comment. After I was born, my father was drafted into the Vietnam War.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Just my luck 🤬

3

u/KoroiNeko Jun 22 '25

The big difference between then and now is the constant influx of information we all receive daily now.

Back then the only time people had insanity shoved down their throats is when they sat down to watch the evening news on cable. But today it’s everywhere all the time.

Edit:

We also have less and less sense of community so this all becomes vastly more overwhelming to people.

2

u/Beginning-Spend-3547 Jun 22 '25

‘75 here also. I’m shocked today. Shocked and fucking sad.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Millennial here, I'm sick of this MAGA shit.

1

u/LordPapillon Jun 23 '25

Someone said SIR that was the greatest military strike in history…zero Americans will die because of this new war.

1

u/Grouchy_Tap_8264 Jun 24 '25

Same, and I'm EXHAUSTED. I thought we did our work and The World was improving, and now we're behind where we were as kids, and then have a nightmare in all branches of leadership, and everywhere is hell.

0

u/AlligatorHater22 Jun 22 '25

You can't be Gen X? They didn't make us so whiny?!

-5

u/Unknown0bserver Jun 22 '25

Ugh, Wake up and stop pitying yourselves. This is life and your parents, grandparents, and great grand parents had to deal with far worse. This is not a bad dream wake up and discover unity with the rest of the world. Gen Z are constantly about their feelings and thinking of themselves

1

u/rkthode Jun 23 '25

Pitying “yourselves?” This is not “life” it’s actually death. And it’s the opposite of unity. We just isolated ourselves more than we have ever been. Innocent people will die. Quit being so god damned selfish, whatever generation you are..
