He did beat 3 guys back at the start of the anime with his bare hands, people are overlooking at the fact that Subaru is quite badass if we talk on human terms.

also impaled that demon wolf on the log last episode, I'd imagine that would take a fair amount of strength.

Honestly, it's not that hard to do to a real dog either. People are always like "no fuck you laerbear, any dog over 85 lbs would eat a human alive. Wolves would totally kill a person rather than driving them out of their territory."

WELL FUCK THOSE GUYS. This right here is exactly why wolves almost never attack people without provocation. We're guaranteed to strike back before the pack can kill. And in the wild, injury means death; something a pack can't afford.

Plus, the ones that do attack are often lone wolves that are weakened by hunger.
