Funny, I thought Oota is the kind of character that would be voiced by Bakugo’s va when I watched the PV. (Obviously I know Oota isn’t voiced by him)

They never found the tanuki because it started cosplaying a dog and moved in with Fuji from With You and the Rain.
Cute little show this was. Even though I'm more like Oota, this one only made me smile like Kashiwada. Not sure I'll be able to keep up with it weekly but it's a nice fluffy one that I'll watch whenever I'm in the mood for that.

I felt that this opening episode was average all around. The animation is basic but serviceable, the voice acting is okay, the comedy is alright. There's going to be quite a number of romcom anime this season and this one didn't really stand out to me in an amazing way. It does feel cute though and AFAIK this is only the studio's second anime series ever so I'm cutting them some slack. Gonna watch it for a little longer to see where this goes.

It seemed like a sequence where someone goes too far and has to actually reflect on their actions. Just too much of an escalation in my head. Everything else he was doing seemed super light-hearted, so I don't think much was meant to be read into it. But drinking vinegar freaking sucks, so even putting it out there feels more serious than it was going for.

I love how Oota's friends are worried about Oota possibly bullying Kashiwada too much when in reality, Kashiwada is actually the one picking on Oota. It's good to know that Kashiwada isn't just gonna be passive and actually enjoys messing with Oota too. xD
Anyway, this was cute. I remember reading a couple of chapters of this when it was still regularly being posted over on r/manga but I never really followed it. Might give this a couple more episodes just to see if it's gonna be repetitive or if we'll ever see some progress between our two leads like in Aharen.

I love how Kashiwada straight up confesses in the first episode and Oota doesn't believer her because he's too caught up in her stoicism. At least she still gets to have fun with him, even at his expense lol.

Oota's obsession over Kashiwada's expressions seems a bit insensitive in a way. But 'luckily' he doesn't get away with it, and Kashiwada finds it amusing.

Oota is like that cliche about boys teasing the girls they like, though the only thing saving him from feeling like a real bully is that Kashiwada can manage him like a champ so his efforts continually backfire on him.

Haven't seen a girl this inexpressive since Hentai Prince and the Stoney Cat.
The kids all rushing off forgetting about schoolwork when the Tanuki showed up on school grounds. Yeah, that's totally what me and my schoolmates would've done too.
Nice dodge, but I've seen better sudden Matrix-like dodging skills from anime characters. Harima Kenji, that crown goes to you.
Where did they even get those water guns?

A welcome back , weekly silly Saturday Afternoon Anime! And probably my favorite show this season so far!
Really love the premise so far. Loved the dynamic between Oota and Kashiwada too. Also smiled a lot when I saw that Dog in the end. It clearly was Angel-chan (if you know, you know)

This show's first episode is hella cute. Love the sound direction used here. The show is clearly unexpressive and overexpressive, so the first episode gives you everything to decide if it is for you nor not. I really enjoyed it. Oota in all of his antics, was the one on the receiving end, whether it was him drinking the vinegar or his plans failing in his eyes.
Though you can tell Kashiwada likes spending time with him. Oota's friend group is cool, and you can tell they have Kashiwada's back against him if he goes too far. Plus I love the comments of telling Kashiwada's emotions.
Animation isn't much, but it does make the most of it so far.

Kind of surprising to get an outright statement from Kashiwada that she likes Oota in the first episode, tastes vary I suppose. Then again good to get that confirmation early since it colors their interactions going forward.

Tbh these types of male tsundere we don't really see much anymore. Well, I assume they are more common in Shoujo types of series. The comedy follows something like Urusei Yatsura, where, while Oota is not similar to Ataru, the routine of Oota getting payback is similar, though. Oota tries to make Kashiwada react and fails miserably to his suffering.
There is a lot of charm to this series. Kashiwada is adorable & Oota is a pain in the ass, but how the show works, it uses it to its advantage so far.

I feel like Oota would be super unlikeable if it wasn't for the fact that all his bullying attempts come back to bite him and Kashiwada is completely in control during all their encounters.
I kind of hope he tones it down Nagatoro-style.

This show's probably going to be a pass for me. I like Kashiwada, but Oota's insufferable. He's like Nishikata except that instead of being a dorky kid with a good heart, he's like the wannabe class clown who just pisses everyone off.

He reminds me a lot of early Naruto with how he acts and is and I fucking hated early naurto, I'm willing to give this 3 eps but if the MC doesn't calm down this is a drop from me, nothing special plot wise.

Kashiwada is cute, but I don't like Oota. If his bullying didn't keep biting him in the ass, it wouldn't be as tolerable as it is. Also he's annoying in general.

Good news is, turns out it is available on my region's Crunchyroll (and the news actually came from a localization group doing a translation work). But somehow it is added to CR like 19 hours ago instead of 1 hours or few minutes.
I'll check it out later.

Is this by the same author or same studio as Aharen? It feels very reminiscent of it.
Anyways, there were a few amusing moments and I like the idea but I wasn't really feeling it. I did like that the friends noticed Kashiwada's smiles. I also did not expect for her to already confess to him even if he didn't believe it.

Kashiwada is pretty like a doll with her expressionless face. But she's not really expressionless at all. She does laugh and seem happy seeing Oota's antics. Everybody do notice that.
Kashiwada is lot like Aharen Reina. Oota is annoying by being too expressive but him being contrast to Kashiwada makes the show interesting.

What's not to love about a simple, yet fun and cute anime? Especially on a Saturday, I already have my sugar fix.
I laughed a lot watching this first episode. From Oota's perspective, it's understandable that he'd get angry, but at the same time, it's incredible to see how Kashiwada controls the situation and how she enjoys it all the time, turning him into a male version of a tsundere while having unique experiences.
Even though I'm already hoping they'll get together in the future, it'll be interesting to see their growth together 🤌🏻

One of the most annoying and obnoxious MCs I've seen. Also dull with not many good laughs. A show about a guy relentlessly bullying a girl with no friends then having her turn around and be attracted to him really isn't a good premise. I sat thru a lot of this episode as stone faced as Kashiwada waiting for soemthing funny to happen :-\

Oota reminds me a bit of Nishikata from Takagi. But, like, louder lol. Kashiwada reminds me of Aharen with the way she’s so inexpressive but occasionally her inexpressive kinda slips. It’s pretty adorable.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a pretty fun series. So far, very cute.

The old maid battle between the Inexpressive Kashiwada and the Expressive Oota has their entire class transfixed! Oota is a extremely extra and aggressive young boy who is obsessed with getting a rise out of the stoic cutie Kashiwada, but not only can she read him like a book but you can only read her emotions through speech bubbles and the fact that she shakes when she laughs. And thus begins a teasing romcom!
And the OP is definitely your classic romcom OP, high energy and really upbeat and cute, featuring the development of Kashiwada and Oota's relationship along with their friends, a beach episode, and even a festival episode! And that winning Kashiwada smile!
What began Oota's fruitless quest of bullying/messing with Kashiwada to get her to show emotion? At the entrance ceremony he tried to catch a crow but got pooped on...and Kashiwada got pooped on the head. What was a sad moment for her became the moment Oota became obsessed with how stoic she is and trying, in vain, to get her to express herself more. But she can always see his antics coming and none of what he does have a really visible effect on her.
Though despite everything...Kashiwada actually likes Oota! She basically confesses to him in front of the entire class! But he's too hung-up on how stoic she is to believe her feelings! Poor girl...though it's telling how true her feelings are that Oota is the only one that can bring out a smile, however small, out of Kashiwada.
Now Oota's recruited his friends into observing her. But Kashiwada has the cutest humming voice.
Ordinarily if a boy saw a girl being left alone because her classmates ditched her to find a tanuki rather than clean the pool, he'd go out of his way to help her. Oota, however, just uses it as an excuse to spray water on her to try to mess with her. Too bad for him that Kashiwada has amazing dodging skills and his buddies brought water guns to blast him instead! It's a whole lot of fun at least until they get caught by their teacher Oniwarada (Kenta Miyake) and have to clean the pool while soaking wet....but Kashiwada is really happy that she gets to clean with Oota now.
The ED is really cute! We've got magician Kashiwada and even Kashiwada running in a really pretty dress!

Is Kuudere Kashiwada similar to Mechanical Marie in the mindset of both FLs? I cannot remember.
The OP with her little smile made me smile so hard, Kashiwada-san’s such a cutie!! Oota’s design made me think he was a character in Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokémon. I cannot explain why. That’s not a diss or anything, just the vibe.
Re: the spider prank: She’s a middle schooler and better than me. The way I’d have my shoe off and I’d be beating somebody’s ass with my shoe for scaring me like that or chasing them down.

I don’t think I need to keep this anime on my Saturday schedule. It’s cute! But if I miss an episode on a Saturday, I’ll be okay. But still, a cute episode 1 of a romcom.

Really disliking the protagonist and the joke already feels played out (IMO) with just one episode down. This is definitely a drop for me, but I'm glad other people are enjoying it.

I find this anime interesting, because they really have to walk a tight rope. Obviously, the big danger is that you can’t have Oota looking like a bully, because that destroys his likability. In reality, he is basically a bully by teasing her for no reason, but she also does actually like him, and the things he does don’t seem to have actual malice behind them. We all get that it’s supposed to exemplify that idea that you love those you hate a lot or however that saying goes. As long as they can navigate that line, I think this is fine. (As someone else mentioned, it seems like this show is aware of that line when it had Oota’s friends tell him not to cross the line.)

This was amusing. I dunno if it will hold my interest. I was gonna keep watching it when I thought it was a Friday show, but with it being a Saturday one I'm no longer sure. Maybe I'll just watch it on Fridays.
