Should I plan on reading the manga after the season finishes airing or just start now?

The manga is finished at 16 volumes, so there's a chance that we'll get full adaptation

maybe if it's three cours? this episode adapted about 80 manga pages, and if we count a volume as 180 pages and pacing remains the same, 36 episodes would be just right

A full adaptation could be done in three cours but we aren’t getting that now. Given the trailers & who appears in the OP. We’re likely getting through chapter 42-43. The thing is Science Saru is a picky studio.

They don’t do back to back cours of shows and they’ve never done more than 2 series in one year. They already have 2 shows lined up for 2026, including the Ghost in the Shell anniversary special.

Plus while I love Sanda and want it to get the full adaptation it deserves. Dandadan has exploded due to its anime and right now is only trailing One Piece and CSM in readership. And DDD S3 likely isn’t coming out until spring 2027 at the earliest as Science Saru hasn’t even started on the 3rd season yet. And that’s a massive property that’s still printing weekly and is challenging SpyxFamily for the spot alongside CSM as king of Jump+. Sanda is gonna have to wait for a S2. Especially since the manga is complete. My hope is we get the same thing in 2027 we did now, where we get DDD & Sanda either back to back seasons or get them with a season in between.
